You might recognize these lace up gladiators from yesterday’s budget post. I can’t tell you how excited I was that I found a pair of knee high shoes that actually fit my skinny legs! I had tried on these Steve Madden gladiator sandals but sadly they were too big for my 13 inch circumference calves. I wasn’t sure if these Choies ones would work but as you can see there is still plenty of room to tie them even tighter. I’ve been doing my calf raises to try to add a little muscle to my twiggy legs so if they ever do bulk up I’ll still be able to loosen the laces for the perfect fit.
The only downside about these sandals is that there isn’t a zipper in the back so you have to tie and untie the sandals each time you wear them. The question of the day when I wore these was “How long does it take to put those on?” Haha… It actually doesn’t take too long once you get the hang of it but it would still be a lot easier if there was a back zipper! They also run small. I’m usually an 8 1/2 or 9 so I ordered the 9 but I probably could have fit in the 10.
I decided to pair these sandals with my white dress because well, it just seems like the perfect summer combination! The utility vest is for a little warmth in air conditioned rooms and to dress down my white lace dress a little bit.

Now on to Flashback Fashion Fridays! This look is from one year ago today. I still wear this outfit! Although, I had to pick up a new chambray shirt because I wore holes through this one. This is the type of outfit I wear to work now. I teach preschoolers which means I’m sitting on the floor a lot so I need comfy pants and shirts. A pair of patterned pants is also great for hiding dirt and stains!

  2. Great outfit! The sandals are love! I really need to get a pair for summer! It would be annoying that there’s no zipper in the back of those ones though. I’m glad you mentioned it so now I know what to look for!
