A Year in Review

I. Can’t. Believe. 2017. Is. Over. Seriously, time just goes by soooo fast. 2017 was definitely an exciting year. And I can honestly say it’s been the best year of my life. Mainly because I had my baby boy! It may have started out a little rough due to the morning sickness…but after March I was starting to feel pretty good and the rest of the pregnancy was a breeze. In July I had Harrison and the birth went a lot smoother than I thought it would. The rest of the summer we had friends and family that came out to California to visit which is always fun. And the fall brought a break in my husband’s work schedule so we were able to spend time together as a family of 3! And of course, the holidays were extra special this year because it was Harrison’s first Thanksgiving and Christmas!

I’ll be honest, I haven’t really been blogging much since Christmas. I’m taking a little break until after the New Year so Adri and I thought we’d round up some of our favorite outfits from this year’s link ups!

Jeans and a Teacup wearing a Madewell Sweater

I was actually pregnant in this photo! I still wasn’t showing much so I was able to get away with belly bands and oversized sweaters. I LOVE this chartreuse colored sweater I just don’t get to wear it much in California.

The Who What Wear Collection from Target saved me during my pregnancy. I was able to find lots of dresses that fit over my bump like this white shift dress and the maxi dress below. Plus they were really affordable!

I had an amazing babymoon at the Korakia in Palm Springs! It was literally an oasis in the desert. I really want to go back but unfortunately for us, no kids allowed!

Style Blogger wearing Ladylike polka dot dress

I bought this dress while I was pregnant hoping I’d be able to fit in it afterwards and I did! I love the lady-like vibes!

Hmmm…I’m seeing a trend here. Turns out my favorite looks from 2017 were all dresses! Here’s a retro inspired shirt dress that I wore postpartum. It’s comfy AND forgiving.

And finally, this fun outfit from last month. With the striped, ruffled shirt and the red accents, it’s a little bolder than I usually go. But I ended up loving it! It actually got me compliments from a stranger too!

I hope you all had a great holiday and have a Happy New Year!

  1. This is a lovely way to look back on your year! And you’re right, a baby is always the highlight of the year! It certainly was for me when my little ones were born 🙂

Thank you for the link up!

Hope you had a wonderful Christmas and are having a great week! I’m enjoying that quiet lazy period between Christmas and New Years and relaxing a bit. Enjoy your blog break!

  2. I know 2017 was the best year of your life yet and yeay for Harrison celebrating his first Christmas. His mommy is super stylish and had such a fabulously-styled pregnancy too. All of these outfits are fantastic but I love the minty-green and striped midi dresses best. Both have fabulous ladylike retro vibes, too. Cannot wait to see more of your looks in 2018 and girl you know I love Who What Wear too!
