This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Spring & Vine. All opinions are 100% mine.
One of my resolutions this year is to use less plastic and choose more eco-friendly products. When I think about the amount of plastic I use and throw out I’m really embarrassed. I’m sure we can all agree that contributing more plastic waste to landfills is not a good idea! But I’m also looking for easy ways to eliminate plastic from my life because I know that if it takes too much effort I won’t stick with it. That’s why I was really excited when I was asked to try out these natural shampoo bars from Spring and Vine! In today’s post I’m sharing the benefits of switching to a shampoo bar and why Spring & Vine shampoo bars are a great choice!
Why Should You Switch To Spring & Vine Shampoo Bars?
Reduces Plastic Packaging
Shampoo bars eliminate the need for a plastic bottle which creates A LOT less waste. These Spring & Vine bars use 95% less plastic and the cardboard packaging is recyclable. When you think about it, you really don’t need a bottle for shampoo. I use bar soaps all the time to wash my hands and it works great. So why not do the same with my shampoo?
Long Lasting
The main ingredient in bottle shampoo is water which is why it seems you need to use a lot in order for it to work. Spring & Vine Shampoo bars contain 90% less water than a bottle of shampoo so you don’t need as much product for it to work. I found that these shampoo bars lather up really quickly so it’s easy to tell when you have enough product in your hair. These bars are formulated to last as long as a 12.6oz bottle of shampoo!
Space Saving and Travel Friendly
Since these shampoo bars are concentrated, they take up a lot less space than a bottle of shampoo. That also means they will take up less space in your bag when you are traveling! You also won’t have to worry about your shampoo spilling in your luggage if you switch to a shampoo bar!
Clean Ingredients
Spring & Vine Shampoo bars are formulated without sulfates, parabens, silicones, dyes, phthalates, mineral oils, and synthetic fragrances! They are also PETA-certified vegan and cruelty-free!
They ARE formulated with good stuff like shea butter and essential oils to clean and moisturize your hair. The Spring & Vine Shampoo bars come in four different formulas:
- Volumizing ā Grapefruit & Rosemary
- Moisturizing2 in 1 ā Oatmeal
- Scalp Soothing ā Tea Tree & Mint
- Balanced Clean ā Lavender & Orange Blossom
How to Use Spring & Vine Shampoo Bars
Luckily, it’s just as easy to use a shampoo bar as it is to use bottle shampoo. All you have to do is wet your hair, massage the bar into your hair to create a lather, and rinse!
My Review
When I first heard about shampoo bars years ago I was kind of skeptical. I’ve used bottle shampoo my entire life so using a bar shampoo seemed really foreign to me. But like I said above, I’ve really wanted to try my best to create less waste so I was willing to give the bar shampoo a try. And I’m so glad I did! Using bar shampoo is just as easy as using bottle shampoo and works just as well.
One of my concerns with switching to a bar shampoo was the lather. I love a good lather and wasn’t sure if a bar would do that. Luckily, the Spring & Vine bars do a great job at lathering! They work even better than bottle shampoo, in my opinion! Oh, and the Spring & Vine bars smell AMAZING! I’ve been using the Balanced Clean – Lavender & Orange Blossom bar and I LOVE the smell. I found that it cleans my hair and leaves it moisturized.
My only critique of the Spring & Vine bars is that they are wrapped in a little bit of plastic in the paper packaging. However, it’s for product safety reasons so as to prevent the bars from sweating when being shipped from Vermont. The brand is working on a solution to this so maybe in the near future they will be 100% plastic free!
But overall, I love the bars and will definitely continue using them! Spring & Vine bars are available exclusively at Target stores and Target.com. I was actually in Target the other day and easily found the shampoo bars!
What do you think? Would you give shampoo bars a try?
I love trying new hair products and shampoo bars seem great, I really want to try them out. I don’t know this brand so I’m gonna to check if they’re cruelty-free and if they are, I’ll be willing to try them out. My only concern is how to store them. I’m not the only person using my shower, I don’t live alone, so I’m worried that leaving it open on a shelf will get water on it and it’ll end up dissolving slowly, you know what I mean? I’ll probably need a little box to store it but all the ones I’ve seen are plastic so I feel like that defeats the purpose of going for an eco-friendly product. I’ll still try them out, for oily hair the lavender and orange blossom one might be a good fit.

They are cruelty-free! š Storage was also a concern for me as well! I found these eco-friendly bamboo storage containers that I think I’m going to try out: https://rstyle.me/+cmsTXQ5Lb0ZxNlGB4G6WXw. They are compostable but will last 5 years in the shower!
Thanks for sharing, those containers seem perfect.
I had no idea shampoo bars were a thing but I love the concept! Plus they seem so easy to use, I don’t know how I didn’t stumble across them sooner. Great post š
