What I’ve Added to My Closet Recently + YouTube Try On
I know a lot of us have struggled to get dressed the past few months because we are quarantining at home. I’ll admit that I’ve spent the majority of the time in leggings and sweatpants! But I still love to shop and style new pieces. So I’ve been looking for pieces that are comfortable for staying at home but are a little more elevated than leggings!
You’ll also notice that the majority of these pieces are neutrals and basics. It’s almost like a mini capsule collection. It’s just so much easier to mix and match neutrals to create endless outfits. I love that all of the pieces can be worn multiple ways!
Recent Additions to My Spring Closet
Everlane Cotton-Merino Cardigan: I was gifted the white version of the cardigan a couple months ago and I loved it so much I bought it in black. It’s a cotton/wool blend that’s not too heavy. It’s great for spring weather. It might be a little hot for summer but you can always wear it unbuttoned as a light layer.
Everlane Silky Cotton Oversized Shirt c/o: This is very lightweight, soft, and a great casual button-down. It is definitely oversized. I’m wearing a size 2 and could definitely have sized down but I don’t mind the oversized fit. The only thing that bothers me is that the sleeves are rather short. Even if you size up I still don’t think the sleeve length will be long enough. So I plan on wearing it with the sleeves rolled up – which is how I prefer to wear my button-downs anyway. (I just got this piece so it’s not in my YouTube video).
Everlane Lightweight Wide Leg Crop Chino: These are the perfect, lightweight summer pant. And they are on sale right now! I feel like these are lightweight enough to wear in warmer weather. I love the high rise. I do wish there were back pockets because I think that would be more flattering. These are on sale as a part of Everlane’s Choos What You Pay Sale!
Everlane Choose What You Pay Sale!
I paired these pieces with the Everlane Day Glove and Everlane Trainer. Both are super comfy footwear that I can wear all day long!
Everlane Air Oversized Crew Tee: I’ve been living in my husband’s tee shirts so I wanted a comfy one of my own! This tee is very light and oversized – like your boyfriend’s shirt! It does feel like a delicate fabric though so I’d be careful washing and drying it or it might loose it’s shape. It is also very oversized – I could definitely have sized down. I bought this color because I wanted it to match my pants for a monochromatic look. The color looks a little bit different in the photos but in person they match better.
NAADAM Button Up Tank: I’m a huge fan of NAADAM’s summer cashmere. It’s a silk/wool blend that’s super light and perfect for summer even though it does contain about 15% wool. I have several of the summer cashmere dresses and I wore them all summer while pregnant. So I decided to pick up these tanks in black and white (see below) because the buttons allow me to breastfeed easier. They are kind of cropped and low cut so keep that in mind. NAADAM pieces are definitely a little bit pricey but they are ethically made from ethically sourced cashmere which contributes to the price. They do have sales though so I always wait for a 25% off sale to pick things up – like right now!
Everlane Put-Together Pleat Pant: Pleated pants are having a moment and I’m kind of obsessed. This pair looked oversized and comfy so I wanted to try them out. The fabric is a drapey tencel that’s casual enough to wear everyday. I’m wearing the size 2 and I feel like they run big (although the size chart is accurate). My only complaint is that they are pretty cropped. I’m 5′ 8″ and they are well above my ankles. The hem is just for show so I can’t roll them down any further.
NAADAM Tank in white: Here’s the summer cashmere tank in white. It’s actually an off-white and slightly sheer.
Banana Republic Pleated Pants: These were on major sale so I couldn’t resist (I got mine for around $35). This is another oversized pleated pant but with a higher, paper-bag waist with a belt. I bought these in the Tall size but they also come in regular and short. The length is is much better for me – they go all the way to my ankles. I have them rolled up right now but I can unroll them to make them longer. The material is a comfy cotton chino that I feel comfortable wearing around the house.
Frank & Eileen Eileen Famous Denim Shirt: I was gifted this shirt in the Daisy yellow color and I loved it so much I bought it in white! Frank & Eileen is a new-to-me brand but I fell in love with the quality and style of their shirts. They specialize in button downs and there are many different styles to choose from. My favorite is the Eileen Famous Denim shirts because I love the distressed details and “lived-in” feel. I know that isn’t everyone’s cup of tea but I love it! It’s also an oversized boyfriend-style fit. I’m wearing the small but I could have definitely fit in an XS.
F+E is very pricey but if you wear button down shirts often and are looking to invest then you should check them out. You can also find F+E shirts on major sale from different retailers (I’ve seen them as low as $50) you just have to do some searching. I bought my white one from Shopbop when it was on sale for about $150. You can also find F+E at Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack. Frank & Eileen is also having a sale so you can get something from their site for 30% off!

Reformation Gemstone Dress: I know all of the other pieces I picked out are neutral, but I love a printed summer dress! Reformation recently had a 30% off sale so I picked up a dress (because most of my other dresses still don’t fit me yet…). I picked this dress because it has buttons down the front (which makes it easy for nursing) and a tie in the back so I can adjust it if/when I lose some more baby weight. Plus, the print was super cute!
I love wearing it by itself paired with a cute pair of espadrille sandals. But it also looks great styled more casually with a pair of sneakers (these are the Everlane Court Sneakers). I added my Frank & Eileen button down for a little more coverage.
Reformation is a bit pricey too but they are ethically made in Los Angeles and you can find them on sale sometimes at Nordstrom!
