WAMA Underwear Review: Sustainable Hemp Underwear
*This post is sponsored by WAMA. All opinions are my own.
If you remember, I recently went through my underwear drawer and gave it a refresh! I recycled my old underwear to make way for ethically made and sustainable underwear. That’s where WAMA comes in! WAMA makes eco-friendly underwear made from sustainable hemp!
The Benefits of Hemp Underwear
Why choose hemp underwear? Hemp fabric is naturally anti-bacterial and breathable, with anti-odor properties – which is essential for underwear! Hemp underwear with also soften overtime which makes it super comfortable – which is ALSO essential for underwear.

WAMA UNDERWEAR REVIEW
I chose to try out the Hipster Panties, Bikini Underwear, High Waisted Underwear, and Triangle Bralette. WAMA also makes Thongs, Boy Shorts, and a Racerback Bralette but I didn’t get a chance to try those out. The underwear is made from 53% Hemp, 44% Organic Cotton, and 3% Spandex. According to the size chart I was a size small (which is my usual size) so I ordered a size small in all the styles. For reference my waist is 27″ and hips are 37″.
High Waisted || Hipster || Bikini
WAMA Hipster Panties
The Hipster Panties have a lower rise, more coverage around the hips, and cheeky coverage in the back. They come in black, green, and a yellow hemp color. They have added seams on the front to emulate men’s underwear but it doesn’t effect how they feel. This was probably my favorite pair. I like having more coverage in the back and the rise wasn’t too high. I also like that there was more coverage around the hips.
WAMA Bikini Underwear
The Bikini Underwear definitely has the less coverage than the Hipster and High Waisted styles that I tried. I typically wear bikini style underwear so this pair does feel comfortable to me. It also is the lowest rise out of the three pairs. But even though it’s less coverage overall it doesn’t feel too skimpy.
WAMA High Waisted Underwear
The High Waisted Underwear has more coverage on the bum and hits right at my belly button (see below). Even though I like more coverage this is probably my least favorite pair. I’m wearing the size small but it seems bigger than the other pairs so it ends up riding up on me. The waist also feels a little too loose. Maybe this style would fit me better if I had a rounder bum (mine is pretty flat) and if I had more of an athletic build. Also, this pair does come up pretty high so if you don’t like wearing really high waisted jeans then this might not be a good pair for you.
WAMA Triangle Bralette
Triangle Bralettes are my go-to’s nowadays because they work better for asymmetrical boobs (which I have thanks to breastfeeding). I’m typically a size 32D so I went with size small. One of my boobs is a D cup and the other is a B/C cup….haha. This bra fits my B/C side better. I think if you are bigger than a D cup in the smaller sizes you might fall out of this bra. Since I have a small ribcage I couldn’t size up or it would have been too loose. This bra doesn’t have any underwire but it does have a supportive elastic band. The straps are also adjustable. There’s no padding but I actually prefer that. This is a comfortable everyday bra! I just wish it came in nude shades since I find myself wearing lighter tops during the summer.

Overall Thoughts
The underwear is comfortable and I like the the waistband – it’s not to thick and not to thin so I feel like it gives me enough support. I wish there was a little more bum coverage on all the styles. But I’m someone that doesn’t like cheeky underwear (maybe I should just stick with granny panties??). I also wish there were more neutral options. I’m someone that either prefers black underwear or a nude/neutral color.
At $20 a pair this underwear is a bit pricier than some other brands I’ve tried. However, they do sell packs where you can get a larger discount the more you buy. WAMA has a nice return policy and a First Pair Guarantee. If you don’t like your first pair for any reason, WAMA will send you a new size, color, or refund with no need to send back the first pair!
