Versatile Closet Staples for Easy Fall Outfits
Striped Sweater
To say that I’m obsessed with striped sweaters would be an understatement. I’ve lost count of how many I have and I’m really trying to hold myself back from buying anymore. All that to say, I think it’s essential that you have a simple striped sweater in your closet for fall.
The Tradlands Shelter Cotton Crew Neck Sweater is a great option. Not only is it ethically made in small batches but it’s comfortable and has a lovely oversized fit. The drop shoulders and ribbed hem are also nice details. It reminds me a lot of the popular Jenni Kayne Chloe Crewneck but the Tradlands version is slightly cheaper (especially if you pick it up using my discount code or during a sale).
Ways to style a striped sweater
Pleated Trousers
I don’t have to dress for work but I still love a good trouser. They can easily be dressed down and are actually more comfy than a pair of jeans. You can’t go wrong with a wide leg or tapered trouser – I have both!

Loafers
Loafers are a classic shoe that never go out of style. I have loafers in my closet that I’ve had for years and they are still in style today. My favorite pair are the ELBA Penny Loafers from Freda Salvador. They are a classic loafer with interesting details – like a notched welt and angled heel. It’s truly a versatile shoe.
I don’t think you can go wrong with either a black or brown loafer (I have both!). Freda Salvador has several loafer styles and colors. I also have several pairs from Everlane which are really comfortable.
How to Style Loafers
Classic Tote Bag
I used to carry crossbody bags a lot but I’ve sort of transitioned to carrying a tote bag instead. After becoming a mom I realized I had a lot more stuff to carry around! And a classic tote bag is something that will never go out of style either. I recently picked up the Romie bag from Sézane and I think it’s the perfect mix of classic and chic. The interesting structure and handles give it a slight upgrade from a standard tote.
There are definitely a lot of styles to choose from when picking a classic tote. I have tote styles from ABLE, Sézane, Everlane, Cuyana and more! (Can you tell I’m kind of obseessed).
