The Best Pieces from the Christy Dawn Fall Collection

The Christy Dawn Fall Collection is here! You know I love my summer dresses, but lately I’ve really been into the Christy Dawn fall collection. The autumnal colors, prints, and cozy textures have me longing for cooler weather. Since I have a few pieces from the latest drops, I thought I’d share them here, along with the other CD fall pieces I’m loving!

The Best Pieces from the Christy Dawn Fall Collection

The Forever Cardigan

The Forever Cardigan is a boxy, cropped cardigan made from 100% soft alpaca for a plush feel. The cardigan is hand-knit with hand-embroidered buttons, making this a piece you’ll want to keep, well, forever! In addition to this green “Grass” shade, it comes in “Dusty Rose” and blue “Lapin”.

I’m wearing size small, which is my usual size in Christy Dawn sweaters. Since I knew it would be boxy, I didn’t think I needed to size up. I would say it fits true to size. If you want an even more relaxed fit, you can size up, but I wouldn’t size down.

The Gabriela Dress

Christy Dawn Gabriela Dress Review

If there was ever a dress that screams “fall”, this would be the Gabriella Dress in Hickory Ditsy! The earthy colors remind me of changing leaves, and the print mixing reminds me of a patchwork quilt. I also love the long, full sleeves, fitted bodice, and adjustable neckline with the contrasting print.

As I already mentioned, I LOVE the prints of this fabric. The main body has a delicate floral print with light blue flowers, and the sleeves are a plaid print with hints of pink. So even though this dress gives off a neutral brown hue, you can still mix in blues and pinks – as I did with my bag. The soft blue suede on the bag helps bring out the blue floral on the dress. The pastel yellow also works really well as an accent color.

Brown plaid fall dress

My Measurements: 35- 30.5-40.5, 30D, 5’8″, 140lbs

I’m wearing size Medium, which is my larger size in Christy Dawn. Usually, the dresses I get are very adjustable and stretchy around the waist and bust, so I can take a size small. But I’ve found that this style of dress, with the fitted bodice and no adjustable tie at the waist, feels tighter, and I need to take a medium. I have the same issue with the Antara Dress – it has the same bodice, so I take a medium in that as well. This style of dress also needs a side zipper to get on and off because it’s not as stretchy, and I’ve found it can be a little hard to zip up. I actually broke the zipper on my Antara Dress because I pulled too hard. So be careful with the zipper! Even with the zipper issue, this is one of my favorite Christy Dawn styles.

Christy Dawn Fall Sweaters

Christy Dawn is probably best known for dresses, but I actually really love their sweaters. They are ethically made and hand-knit using 100% natural fibers like alpaca and cotton. Every time I wear one of my Christy Dawn sweaters, people compliment them and ask me if I made them! Here are a few sweaters I’m really loving right now.

Bertha Sweater

The Bertha Sweater has an oversized, boyfriend-inspired silhouette made from alpaca and cotton. This year, it’s been released in a yellow stripe (above), neutral stripe, and sunflower print. I really like the striped versions because they feel more like a vintage men’s sweater. Last year, the Bertha Sweater was released in a grey/red stripe, and I was able to try it on in-store. It was very comfortable but definitely oversized. In the photo above, I’m wearing the M/L size because that’s all they had, but I definitely need the XS/S.

The Frank Vest

I LOVE a knit vest and this year Christy Dawn has the Frank Vest in a beautiful fair isle print. I bought a Christy Dawn vest a couple years ago and I wear it all the time. It’s so easy to layer it over shirts and top and perfect for a little extra warmth. This years vest is a V-neck which is perfect for displaying cute collars and plackets.

The Ingrid Sweater

I can’t say no to stripes and an oversized silhouette and the Ingrid Sweater has both! I almost picked it up last year in the ‘Basil” green shade but it sold out. So I’m glad it’s back this year in two colors as well as a print!

The Mimi Cardigan

If delicate knits are more your style, then check out the Mimi Cardigan! It’s a delicate cable knit with openwork stitching with gorgeous floral embroidery. It’s just so cute and full of those details that make Christy Dawn pieces special.

There are a lot of other knitwear options, and honestly, I love them all! I try to add at least one Christy Dawn knit piece to my collection each year, and they never disappoint. Don’t forget to use my discount code to save some money!

  1. That Gabriela dress in Hickory Ditsy gives off such magical cozy autumn vibes with the print mixing. I really appreciate the warning about the side zipper since I always struggle with non-stretch bodices myself! Green alpaca is impossible for me to resist, so that Forever Cardigan is going straight to the top of my wish list.
