Swimwear Roundup: Brands with Fuller Coverage Options

Who else is ready for summer beach days?! *raises hands* I don’t normally plan trips to the beach (I haven’t been to the beach in years!) but after a year in quarantine I’m ready to get out in the sunshine! I haven’t bought a “nice” swimsuit in forever. Usually I’ll just pick up a cheap suit from Target (always in black) because they are easy to find. But this year I’m doing my research and investing in a nice bathing suit so it will motivate me to get out there! I thought I would put together a Swimwear Roundup featuring some of the brands I looked at for a swimsuit!

Swimwear Roundup

For this swimwear roundup I was looking for brands with fuller coverage swim options. I’m not one to wear a skimpy bikini to the beach. I prefer tops and bottoms (especially bottoms) that provide fuller coverage. It’s actually surprisingly hard to find full coverage bottoms. Why does everyone want “cheeky”?! I was also looking for brands with really gorgeous prints as well as nice simple solid options.

I think I should mention that everyone has different opinions of what “fuller coverage” means. I’m naturally thin with a flat butt and normal chest so I don’t need a whole lot of extra fabric to make me feel covered. If you are curvier some of these options still might not work for you. But I do think there are a few options below that would work for everyone!

Brands with Fuller Coverage Swimwear Options

Peony Swimsuits

SOOOO I’m including Peony Swimwear because the swimsuit I bought seems to have a good amount of coverage – even though most of the options from the brand are not full coverage. I ordered this gorgeous Ruched Hi Pant and Ruched Crop from Peony Swimwear. They also have this print in a one-piece and in a Bandeau with cute sleeves!

This is an investment swimsuit (Is that a thing?)! Normally I NEVER spend this much on a bathing suit but I’m hoping to get a lot of use out of it this summer since it will be our last in California. I’m also going to Greece this summer (fingers crossed) so maybe I’ll get to use it there as well. I’m not one to buy multiple bathing suits each season so this one will hopefully last me years.

peony swimsuit at the beach

I just wore this swimsuit to the beach this past weekend and I loved it! I didn’t go in the water (too cold!) but it worked out great for lounging. I felt comfortable with the coverage. It was a little cheeky but I felt the coverage in the front was really nice. There was a lot of hip overage and it went up over my belly button!

Peony Swim has other GORGEOUS suit options, including the green one-piece shown above. I love that it’s all one piece but has a cut out that makes it look like two. You can find Peony Swimwear at other retailers like Net-A-Porter and Revolve as well.

Everlane Swim

Everlane just launched swimsuits! All the swimwear is made from 82% regenerated nylon derived from recycled plastic. I wish I had jumped on the launch earlier but at the time I wasn’t thinking about swimwear. Now a lot of options are sold out but I believe they are restocking in June or July. BUT this floral one-piece is still available! I like that Everlane offers a high rise hipster – which looks like it has more coverage! I just hope they restock soon!

Jessica Rey

Jessica Rey is a great option for people who want conservative and full coverage swim suits. They are ethically made in a Los Angeles factory out of 100% regenerated materials. You won’t find bikini tops here. Instead Jessica Rey has a cute selection of one-pieces, swim dresses, tankini tops, full coverage bottoms, and swim skirts. I love the Jessica Rey pieces because they are actually FULL COVERAGE. Plus, the prints are sooo cute. I really love this floral one-piece swimsuit!

Girlfriend Swim

Girlfriend is another ethical/sustainable brand that recently launched swimsuits. Their swim collection is similar in style to Everlane’s – simple designs and bold colors – and made from the same material (82% regenerated nylon). Their swim line is a few dollars more expensive but it comes in a wider size range – up to 6XL. Unfortunately, a lot of the extended sizes are sold out but keep your eye out for restocks!

Kitty and Vibe

I just discovered Kitty and Vibe through a Google search and I love their sizing system. They base their sizes on the size of your hips AND butt! As someone with a very flat butt, I always have problems with finding bottoms that don’t sag. Kitty and Vibe offers two booty size options for each hip size! So if you have a smaller booty you’d choose the 1 range (ex. S1, M1, L1) and if you have a larger booty you’d choose the 2 range (S2, M2, L2). And their sizes go all the way up to 3XL. Kitty and Vibe also offers a wide variety of top options to fit different body types. They also offer regular and long torso options for their one-pieces! Overall, I’m really impressed with the sizing options available and I’d love to try their styles eventually!

Albion Swim

I really liked the Albion swimsuits because they offered fuller coverage bottoms. I would have bought this floral top if the matching high waisted bottoms were still available. I love their ruched high waisted bottoms because they offer full coverage and the ruching is flattering on less-than-perfect bellies (hello mommy tummy!). Albion also has really cute one-piece options.

Summersalt

Summersalt has a large selection of fun and bright swimsuits. They also offer options for different “butt coverage” with full coverage options available. I really love this bright floral two-piece suit! Summersalt also has a nice selection of swim cover-ups.

I hope you enjoyed this Swimwear Roundup! Let me know which options are your favorite in the comments below!
