Summer Crochet Dress + Long Mac Trench Coat

I’m excited to finally share this dress that I picked up a couple weeks ago! This summer crochet dress from Sézane is the perfect summer vacation dress IMO. Sadly, I’m not going on vacations this year but it’s still a great dress to wear to church, brunch, or any place I want to feel a little fancy yet comfortable!

I love this dress because it looks fancy but feels casual. The fancy crochet knit is made from organic cotton with stretch so it feels soft while hugging your body. The open knit and sleeveless style of the dress means it’s not going to make you overheat even though it is a knit dress. It does have a lining made from stretchy viscose so the dress isn’t sheer.

Overall, it’s just a really comfortable dress. I’m 100% ok with wearing this dress around the house. But like I mentioned above, this would be an amazing travel dress because it looks so nice but the fabric is sooo comfortable. You’ll be able to wear this dress from morning till night with no problem. Just switch up your footwear and you’re good to go from sightseeing to dinner out.

I’m usually a size small in Sézane but I took an XS in this dress and I think it fits really well. I could have taken a size small but it just would have been looser around my body and I wanted a tighter fit. I also didn’t want the neckline to sit too low (like it does on the models) so I sized down. The only issue with sizing down is the buttons on the front. They will start to pull apart if you have a big bust. It’s not really an issue with me since I have a petite upper body but if you are busty you might want to take your regular size instead of sizing down.

The Long Mac Coat from Everlane

I’m wearing this summer crochet dress with my oversized Mac Coat from Everlane because it’s been a little rainy recently. Sadly, I live on the east coast now where it rains quite often…haha. I’ve styled this trench coat for casual rainy days before but this time I dressed it up – literally! I love trench coats because they make any outfit looks a little extra cool. This one is very oversized with no waist tie so it creates a really big silhouette. I rolled up the sleeves to give it a little more definition.

And finally, I added a pair of cute gingham block heels to make this a more summery outfit. These heels are from Miista and I got them a couple years ago. I just think they are so fun! I don’t get to wear them that often because red gingham is a little harder for me to match with tons of outfits. But I thought this neutral, textured dress would be perfect to pair with these red heels. Sadly, they are not available anymore but here’s a pair of cute gingham block heel sandals!
