Reformation Tee + Denim

When I saw that Reformation was having a sale during Black Friday I knew I had to pick up some more pieces! I love these jeans so much that I thought I’d try out another denim style. If you like stretchy, legging-like denim these are not the jeans for you. I like the Reformation denim styles because the denim is really sturdy and thick with no stretch. The material does loosen up over time but it’s not “stretchy”. I feel like it gives the denim a classic, vintage feel.

I was drawn to this pair because of the seam detail down the front and back. I wish they fit a little tighter like they do on the model but the next size down was too tight on my waist (still have a little “pudge” from pregnancy!). Since they are a little looser it gives off more of a “mom jean” style which I’m ok with. Although, apparently some people have strong negative feelings about high waisted, 80’s style denim. Did you see the troll on Pretty Little Fawn’s Instagram post? I can’t believe some people take the time out of their day to make comments like that!

I also picked up this tee from Reformation. I obviously love the stripes and I felt like this tee had a vintage vibe to it too and paired perfectly with the jeans. I added my patent leather booties and fur bag for some texture and my baker boy hat just for fun! I think the whole look definitely has a retro feel to it!

Even though Reformation’s prices are a little high, I love their commitment to sustainability and responsible manufacturing so I’m ok with paying a little more. The pieces are also designed in LA and made in the US whenever possible. I’m really trying to fill my closet with more conscious pieces instead of fast fashion.

Now onto Flashback Fashion Friday’s! Here’s a look from last December. Grana is a brand that I love for transparent pricing. They use quality materials but without the markup! This dress is from their affordable cashmere collection.

  1. Such a vintage vibe with this outfit – it made me smile though as I remember having a pair of jeans like that with the seam down the middle when I was younger. I was so excited to buy them Can’t remember if I sold or donated them, but they are no longer in my wardrobe.

Thank you for the link up!

Hope you are having a good week so far and all your Christmas preparation is going well! I’m so behind with wrapping presents – need to do more this weekend!

  3. I cannot believe people have time to write so much negative things either. Anyhow I haven’t worn 80s jeans yet but I am willing to try a pair. You rock yours and I do believe those Reformation jeans with the seaming in the front are beautiful on you. Love the 80s yet modern vibes of this outfit, definitely updated for 2017. Welcome by and linkup with me, Jess. =)

  4. Totally loving that front seam on the jeans! It’s such a fun, extra little detail. I’m with you on trying to fill my closet with more conscious pieces – not always easy to do but so worth it in the long run!
