Positive Thoughts Only + Link Up
Positive Thoughts Only. As someone who is a “glass half empty” type of person this is something that I need to remind myself of daily! I struggle with perfectionism and I constantly have negative thoughts fighting for attention in my head. I find myself thinking that I’m not smart enough, pretty enough or successful enough and it holds me back in all aspects of my life.
I’ve really been struggling with this the last few months as I’ve tried to work on my blog full time. I don’t think I made an official announcement here on the blog but I quit my part time job as a preschool music teacher over the summer to try to turn this blog into a career. And guys, it’s a struggle! I’m constantly comparing myself to other bloggers, wondering why I’m not good enough to be able to make this work like everyone else. I know everyone struggles with this but it’s especially frustrating when you put ALL your time and effort into something and it still doesn’t work out.
But I’ve realized that having a negative attitude about my situation is NOT going to help. When I let those negative thoughts creep in it paralyzes me and I can’t move forward. That’s why I was really excited when Allkiind asked me to style one of their tees. The Positive Thoughts Only tee is perfect for helping me keep those negative thoughts away!
Allkiind is a social impact lifestyle brand that donates 10% of purchases to charitable causes, non-profits, good deeds and other activities to make the world a better place! They’re “In it for good” as they like to say. On their site you’ll find chic, inspirational tees and prints for men and women.
And lucky for you, Allkiind and I are hosting a GIVEAWAY on Instagram! All you have to do is follow Allkiind and I on Instagram and tag a few friends for a chance to win an Allkiind product of your choice!

I wish I could help but it is a mystery to me why some blogs get a lot of success and others do not. I don’t even understand how blogging for income even works. I read all the “How to” posts, but I still don’t understand. I blog for fun. Love your outfit. That shirt is great and you styled it beautifully.
Thanks for the comment Amy! It’s a mystery to me too…haha. I feel like I “know” how to do this whole blogging game but it still doesn’t work out sometime.
XO, Jessica
Lovely tee and message with it. I struggle with comparing EVERYDAY and get lost and unmotivated quickly. I love how you are making this a full time job now, it sure can be hard to get the income we want or opportunities but it will come. Thanks for sharing.

Great tee and I love the message. It looks perfect with your utility jacket and black, distressed jeans! Hoping things turn around for you soon with this full time blogging venture. It takes a lot of courage to pursue something you are passionate about. Best of luck to you, Jessica.

I admire your honesty with blogging. I think because blogging is such a visual “job” comparing comes easily. I’ve learned I have had to back off social media at times or unfollow people even for awhile until I come to grips with reality again. I love your t shirt and I know you will succeed in this blog! Keep on keepin’ on!
http://www.mylittlenest.org
I totally have to unfollow people at times too! It’s so hard to not compare yourself on social media…still working on it! Thanks so much for your comment and support Ruth!
XO, Jessica
It’s so easy to do the comparison game! But figuring how to stop it is another thing. Awareness of it is huge and definitely the start. Love a tshirt with a great message. And you are doing enough to grow your blog! Heck, you remind me I could be doing more!

I don’t know what I’d do without your support Adri! Thanks for being such a great blogging buddy!
Ahhh, Jessica, I’ve been blogging regularly (albeit not full-time) this year after about a 2.5 year hiatus. I was discouraged by the very same reasons you’ve highlighted in the post. And, to an extent, I still am. Brands keep talking to the PYTs and if they approach an older blogger, that blogger has to be super cool and super edgy and super different, all of which I am not. Honestly, it’s easier said than done, that whole acknowledgement is the first step gig. There are days when I feel blessed and appreciated, and there are days when I want to just pummel someone/something out of sheer frustration. It doesn’t get (all that much) easier 🙂 but but but, that said, I do realise I have a lot to be grateful for, and I do realise I’ve come a long way since January, and that I really ought to be thankful. To not be complacent and settle but to clearly see what I’ve already accomplished and keep plugging away. As you should to, Jessica. That big OMG WOW project may not yet have landed in our laps but there certainly have been smaller YAY collaborations along the way 🙂 power through xoxo
I disagree – I think you are super cool and unique! But I totally understand where you’re coming from too. I definitely go through those days where I feel great about the blog and then days where I feel totally discouraged. Thank you so much for this comment and your support Sheela!
XO, Jessica
Congratulations on taking the plunge. It can be quite a step. Hang in there and be patient. I know it’s so easy to compare yourself to others and then get dragged down by it but positive thoughts and recognising that are the first major steps.
Your tee sends a powerful and uplifting message.

I had no idea you were pursuing this full time. That’s great! Surely is loads of work but at least you are doing it sooner rather than later. I hear you about being a glass half empty perspective, I’m the same way but it needs some psychological shifting and things will likely tilt to the positive. Would love if you can link up to http://the-wardrobe-stylist.com/2016/10/10/easy-diy-halloween-decorations/
