Stripes, chambray, lace, polka dots, leopard…this outfit pretty much contains all of my favorite things.  Once again I got my inspiration from the lovely Blair of Atlantic-Pacific.  I think I fell in love with it because it has that dressy/casual feel.  And when I picked up this chambray shirt on clearance I knew I finally had all the pieces to re-create the look. It’s also fun to be able to re-create a similar outfit for a fraction of the cost.  I added up the cost of the shirt, chambray, skirt/dress, shoes, scarf and belt from Blair’s outfit and it added up to over $700.  I added up what I paid for the similar items I’m wearing and it came out to around $100!  It would have been even less but I splurged a little on this Madewell scarf that was on sale for $30.  But I’m sure you can find plenty of polka dot scarves for less than that.  Just goes to show you don’t necessarily have to buy high end items to create a similar look! It just takes some time, patience and good sales!

  3. This look is such a brilliant mix of patterns and textures. (And to be completely honest, I actually like your version much better!) I totally agree that you don't have to spend a lot to look great. In fact, I kind of think that people who consistently spend so much on clothing are sort of suckers. Nobody needs a $400 dress unless it's like their wedding or something 🙂
