Look Like A French Girl this Summer in the Sézane Pippa Dress
One of the most popular styles from Sézane last summer was the Pippa Dress. I believe I read that it had a 12,000 person waitlist?! I know I tried to get this cute T-Shirt Dress last summer but it was always sold out in the color I wanted. Luckily, they recently restocked the Pippa dress and I was able to pick it up in black! So I’ll be sharing how to look like a French Girl this summer in the Sézane Pippa Dress!

How to Look Like a French Girl This Summer

Sézane Pippa Dress Review
First, I wanted to share a little info on the Pippa Dress. It’s made from a stretchy fabric – 94% cotton and 6% elastane. It has a tie on the side and side slits. I found that the side tie doesn’t really allow you to adjust the size – it is purely decorative. Basically, the Pippa Dress is an updated T-shirt dress.
I do really like this dress. I think it will be a go-to for me this spring and summer because it is so comfortable. I feel like the material has a nice thickness – it’s not to thin or thick. The long side slits mean it’s pretty breezy. I also like that the gathered material around the waist tie kind of distracts from my mommy tummy! I am wearing spanx but I still don’t have a flat stomach. But with this dress I feel like you don’t really notice it as much.

Size + Fit
I’m wearing the size small, which is my usual Sézane size, so I’d say this dress runs TTS. I’m also usually a size 6 is there dresses. I did order the size XS because I knew this dress had some stretch and I was thinking I might like it better a little more form-fitting. But I actually prefer how the size small looks. The XS was just a little too tight around my arms and hips. I thought that the tightness around the hips made the side slits look a little weird. I think this dress looks better when it’s just skimming the body to get that effortless French-Girl look. The sizing notes on the website say if you are in between sizes to size down but I disagree with that. I think you should take your larger size if in-between.

How to Style the Sézane Pippa Dress
I think less is more when trying to dress like a French Girl. Honestly, all I think this dress really needs is a straw bag, some sandals, a red lip, and just-got-out-of-bed tousled hair. If you check out the model wearing the black Pippa Dress on the website you can see what kind of hair I’m talking about. Don’t even comb your hair – just run your fingers through it and maybe add some texturizing spray. Voila! You look like a French Girl.
For the best straw bags you can take a look at my post here. I’ve rounded up some of the cutest straw bags that are similar to the popular Loewe straw bag (which I really wish I had!). Sézane did just release similar straw bags but they sold out SO QUICK. I wanted the mini Justine Basket but couldn’t grab one in time. I did manage to pick up the regular Justine Basket in dark raffia/navy leather and it is really cute.

For footwear you can’t go wrong with espadrilles. Of course, Sézane has a nice collection of espadrilles! I’m also a huge fan of all the Freda Salvador shoes. I have at least 9 pairs and the HATTIE Fisherman Sandal is my latest pair. It is SO COMFORTABLE and I’ll be wearing them a ton this summer.

I know I didn’t really style the dress like that in the photos but I think this is another cute way to style the dress. I added a little more accessories – layered gold necklaces, a silk scarf, and bold sunnies.
