Most of you know that I was asked to participate in the Beverly Center Fall Fashion Challenge. I had to put together a fall outfit with a gift card to the Beverly Center and then attend the final event on Sept. 18th. (Hardwork, I know!) This was the first time I’ve participated in a fashion challenge so it was really exciting for me! And the event was a lot of fun. Chriselle Lim from The Chriselle Factor, Aimee Song from Song of Style and Adam Gallagher from I Am Galla were the hosts of the event. It was really cool to see these major fashion bloggers in real life. I wasn’t brave enough to actually talk to them…I’m still working on being more social at events…but I got to hear them talk during the Q&A portion of the event and they all seem super cool and nice.
Each of the blogger hosts chose their favorite outfit from the fashion challenge participants. I wasn’t one of the winners but congrats to Jenna from Visions of Vogue, Taryn from Velvet Sugar and Enocha from Locks and Trinkets for winning the big prize!
There is still a chance I could win a $500 gift card if you vote for my outfit on facebook. You could win $500 just for voting too! I know a lot of you have already voted and I really appreciate it!

One of these things is not like the other…WHY AM I SO WHITE?! Haha…

It’s always nerve-wrecking trying to come up with something to wear at these blogger/fashion events. Should you be trendy? Classic? Dressed up? Casual? I love black and white/neutral outfits so I went with my grey skirt which I feel can be dressed up or down. I wore my leather jacket that I picked out from the challenge and lace up heels to add some edginess to the outfit. I went with a lace shirt and statement necklace to add some girly-ness.  Plus I always love the leather + lace combo.

  1. That sounds like a really fun event! I love the look you put together for it!
Bummer you didn't talk to any of the blogger 'celebrities' – when I was at the RewardStyle party Kendi was there and I knew I'd be kicking myself if I didn't go over and say hi, so I did and she was really sweet and chatted for a few minutes.

Anyway, I hope you win $500! (and I hope I do too, hehe).

  2. I'd just like to say, it's totally inspiring to see a fashion blog that features a beautiful woman who does not have orange or super tan skin! I've struggled for a long time with my pale tone and as I've gotten older I've learned to accept it and be grateful for what I have.

I'm just so pleased to see such gorgeous looks for fair skinned gals like me!

  3. Love the outfit you wore to the event Jessica! It's perfect! Fashionable and tastefully put together. I don't go to events very often….but I'm with you…socializing is a bit of a challenge. It helps to see familiar faces though! Hope you win the $500 girl! You deserve it!
