Jenni Kayne Sweater Review
Over the past year I’ve acquired several Jenni Kayne sweaters so I figured it was time for a review! Even though we are getting closer to warmer temps I don’t think it’s ever a bad time to get a Jenni Kayne sweater since they are classic closet staples. I hope my review helps you figure out which sweater is right for you! So without further adieu, here is my Jenni Kayne Sweater Review.
Jenni Kayne Sweater Review
My Measurements: 33-28-37.5, 5’8″, 117lbs, 32C
I just want to mention that I used to be a Jenni Kayne Ambassador where I was gifted a few of these sweaters. However, I’m not a part of the program anymore and have since purchases a lot of these sweaters on my own!
Cashmere Cocoon Cardigan
The Cashmere Cocoon Cardigan was the first piece that attracted me to Jenni Kayne. I saw all my favorite influencers wearing this cardigan and it looked so cozy! I actually went to the Jenni Kayne store in Brentwood when I lived in California to try on a few pieces and the Cashmere Cocoon Cardigan did not disappoint. You can read My Jenni Kayne Store Try-On post here.
It wasn’t until a few months later in July 2021 that I bought the Cashmere Cocoon Cardigan and I’ve been loving it ever since! It is SO soft (not itchy at all) and actually pretty lightweight. I got the Cashmere Cocoon Cardigan in Oatmeal size XS. This style is very oversized. I’m usually a size small but I sized down. I think the XS is a perfect fit for me but if you want a really oversized look then take your normal size. What I like about this cardigan is the way that it lays. It’s oversized but still looks chic without being frumpy. I also love how it looks over slip dresses.
This sweater is the priciest out of all the sweaters I’m reviewing. But in my opinion, it’s worth it. It’s 100% cashmere and held up really nicely over the past couple of months. I haven’t washed it yet (I tend not to wash my sweaters unless I have to) but there’s minimal pilling and it still looks brand new!
Cotton Cocoon Cardigan
The Cotton Cocoon Cardigan is similar to the Cashmere Cocoon Cardigan but it’s made from a cotton blend (70% cotton, 30% polyamide). I was gifted this sweater while I was a Jenni Kayne Ambassador and I was surprised how much I liked it! The cotton blend is heavier than the Cashmere Cocoon Cardigan so it lays a little different. But the weight actually feels really nice. Because it’s heavier, I feel like the material stretches out a bit more. I’ll wear this cardigan in the spring and summer over my slip dresses. I LOVE how it looks with the Jenni Kayne Leopard Slip Dress. I also sized down in this to an XS and it’s still very oversized!
However, I have problems with this cardigan snagging. I’m guess it’s because this is a blend of materials and not 100% cotton so the fibers catch a little easier. It could also be that the knit pattern is a little larger/more open so there’s more opportunities for the fibers to get caught. I don’t have problems with the 100% Cashmere Cocoon Cardigan snagging (which is why I would recommend that one over this one). But I do still really love this cardigan and wear it often.
Cashmere Fisherman Sweater
The Cashmere Fisherman Sweater is a classic Jenni Kayne piece and at the top of my list for my second purchase. It’s a comfortable, everyday sweater that goes with everything! I got it in Undyed Stone size Small and it’s perfect. I wouldn’t size down in this sweater. The fit is slightly boxy and it’s definitely shorter than the cashmere cardigans.
This sweater is 100% cashmere and very soft like the Cashmere Cocoon Cardigan. I don’t feel like I even have to wear a shirt underneath this sweater. (Although, I do to keep it from getting sweaty and dirty). I’ve worn this sweater A LOT (more than any of my other JK sweaters) and it’s pilling a little bit but nothing that a sweater comb won’t fix. I haven’t washed it or had it dry cleaned but I probably will at the end of the season when I put my sweaters away. (I also need to iron/steam the wrinkles out!).
This is a definitely a versatile sweater and I’ve worn it the most so far so the cost per wear is better than any of my other sweaters. 100% would recommend!
The Cabin Sweater
I wasn’t planning on buying The Cabin Sweater but I had some rewards points to spend (more on that later) and decided to add this to my cart. It’s a blend of 70% wool and 30% cashmere. I got it in size Small in Nutmeg.
I was a bit worried that it would be a little itchy since it’s mostly wool but honestly, it feels almost as soft as the cashmere sweaters! And it doesn’t feel itchy either! It’s definitely more of a relaxed, oversized fit than the Fisherman Sweater. I debated whether I should size down but I decided to go with my usual size Small. I think the fit is perfect since it’s supposed to be oversized. I wouldn’t recommend sizing down.
This sweater was a pleasant surprise! I don’t feel like it’s as versatile as the Fisherman Sweater so I don’t wear it as much but I still really love it. It’s wearing about the same as the Fisherman Sweater with some slight pilling but nothing too bad!
Cashmere Boyfriend Sweater
I was gifted the Cashmere Boyfriend Sweater last year when I was a part of the Ambassador program. I love that it’s 100% cashmere. It has a high low hem, oversized fit, dropped shoulders and wide cuffs. I’m wearing the size small in Willow. This is a style from last season so I’m not sure if they’ll be bringing it back or not!
This is not one of my favorite styles. I think I find it hard to style because of the high low hem, side slits and long length. I basically just wear it with a pair of jeans. But if you like this style Jenni Kayne has the Everyday Sweater which looks similar except it’s not as long and oversized!
Cotton Fisherman Sweater
I JUST got the Cotton Fisherman Sweater in Oatmeal so I haven’t had time to wear it yet but I wanted to give you my initial thoughts. It’s 100% cotton (unlike the Cotton Cocoon Cardigan which is a blend). So it’s not as soft as the Cotton Cocoon Cardigan. And it definitely feels a little weightier than the Cashmere Fisherman Sweater. But I think this will be a good sweater option for spring because the cotton will be more breathable. The Oatmeal shade is also reading a bit more pink than the Cashmere Cocoon Cardigan in Oatmeal that I have. I would say the Cotton Fisherman Sweater in Oatmeal is more of a flesh color.

Jenni Kayne Rewards
If you are planning to purchase from Jenni Kayne, make sure to sign up for their rewards program! It’s a free program where you earn points for all purchases which you can use for discounts in the future. It’s actually really easy to get enough points for $50 off, $100 off, and more! I’ve already been able to get $50 off and $100 off my last 2 purchases through my points! And the great thing about the points is you can use them in combination with a discount code. So when Jenni Kayne has a sale you can get up to 20% off AND use your points discount!
And if you are interested in the Oak Essentials skincare line I would suggest purchasing them through Jenni Kayne’s website (instead of the Oak Essentials website) because those points will go to your Jenni Kayne account as well. I just purchased some Oak Essentials through Jenni Kayne’s website for some extra points!

Are Jenni Kayne Sweaters Worth It?
Yes, I think Jenni Kayne Sweaters are worth it. The cashmere is super soft and even the blended wool/cashmere sweaters are soft and not itchy. I’ve worn my sweaters a lot and they still look great. The fit of their sweaters is also really nice. If you are looking for that effortless, California-cool look then Jenni Kayne sweaters are where it’s at. But I would recommend investing in one of their 100% cashmere styles over a cashmere blend or cotton. All of their pieces are pricey so if you are going to spend the money, go for the cashmere! (But wait for a sale because you shouldn’t have to pay full price!).
I think their Fisherman Sweater is really versatile and the pieces I wear the most. But I also really love the Cocoon Cardigan because of the way it fits. Of all the oversized cardigans I’ve tired from other brands, this one is my favorite!
