Interesting Denim for Fall and Beyond
I would say my style in general is pretty classic. However, I’ve really been into interesting denim silhouettes lately. I think they are a great way to “spice up” an outfit! It all started when I picked up a pair of the popular Horseshoe Jeans from Citizens of Humanity. I loved them so much that I wanted to add another “fun” pair to my closet. When I stumbled upon the Still Here Cowgirl Jeans I knew they would be perfect!

Interesting Denim for Fall and Beyond
Still Here Cowgirl Jeans
Still Here New York is a new-to-me brand that I discovered on Instagram. Their vintage inspired jeans are designed in New York and hand finished in LA. Each pair is created with unique features such as hand-painted stripes, hand-stitched embroidery, or hand-woven appliqué.
What drew me to these jeans was the perfect tan shade, the angled leg shape, and the side cut outs. The shape of the cowgirl jeans is less exaggerated than the horseshoe jeans I have. That’s why I think this pair makes the perfect statement jean without being too “crazy”.
Of course, I LOVE the side cut-outs with the rivet hardware. That’s what makes this pair really stand out. I also think it makes this pair the perfect fall transition denim. Obviously, the cut-outs provide some ventilation so you can still wear these on slightly warmer fall days. In the cold winter months I can easily add some tights underneath. And when spring rolls around the color and style still makes them appropriate to pair with spring tops!
Size, Fit, and Fabric
The Cowgirl Jeans feature a relaxed leg, high rise, and wedgie fit. They are made from 100% cotton so there isn’t any stretch. However, the material feels soft and already lived-in – so not stiff at all. I don’t feel like I need to break in this pair.
I’m wearing the size 27 which I would say is my usual size. The fit feels perfect – not too tight or too loose. I probably could have squeezed into the 26 for a tighter fit (considering these are 100% cotton and will probably stretch out a little). But I think a slightly relaxed fit is the vibe right now anyway.

I’m wearing the Khaki shade but they are selling out across retailers. There are a lot of other washes available and in stock though!
Elements of a fall outfit
To go along with my interesting denim I added an oversized plaid blazer, black tank, simple leather flats, and a classic bag. I think these classic pieces help make the Cowgirl Jeans more palatable to people who might be on the fence about them.
I love adding a blazer to my fall outfits. It acts like a jacket in early fall and an additional layer under my coats when it gets cooler. My go-to blazers are usually from Everlane. They have a great selection of wool blazers and lighter tencel blazers (I have both).
Ballet flats are trending right now but to me they never went out of style. I’ve been wearing the Everlane Day Gloves ever since they launched in 2018. My first two pairs finally wore out beyond repair after wearing them (almost) everyday through all kinds of weather. I picked up this olive green pair and I’m in love! On the website they look like a greenish-brown shade. In person they are definitely a strong olive green. Sizing note – these stretch out a lot! I’m wearing the 8.5 and they are tight right now. But after you break them in they will mold to your feet and stretch.
The last addition to this outfit is a classic leather bag. I’m loving the Milo bag from Sézane. It has room for all the essentials and it’s really a timeless style.
