How to Style Jeans
Most of us probably have at least one pair of bootcut jeans or skinny jeans in our closet. You probably have a couple of pairs of blue jeans in different shades and washes. But today I’m going to highlight some different styles you might not have in your closet – The Boyfriend Jean, The Black Moto Jean and the White Skinny Jeans.
If you have a pair of denim jeans it’s not a huge stretch to wear a pair of boyfriend jeans. It can be hard to find a pair of boyfriend jeans that don’t make you look frumpy or leave you with “saggy butt” syndrome. This style of jean is so comfortable and stylish it would be a shame not to try it out! If boyfriend style jeans don’t work for you try a pair of loose straight leg jeans with some distressing. It will give the same effect as the boyfriend jean but might look a little more fitted.
Since boyfriend jeans usually look really casual – especially if they are distressed, faded or ripped – I like to dress them up with pieces that are more feminine. In this outfit I added a lace top and heels to dress up the casual look of the jeans. It’s always good to add structured pieces to boyfriend jeans as well. The blush blazer still looks feminine but adds some structure. And how fun are the tassel pumps and earrings?!
The second type you should try out is a pair of skinny black jeans. These are great because you can dress them up or down. They are perfect for a night out when you still want to wear jeans but blue jeans just won’t cut it!
For this outfit I decided to dress them down. The ribbed design on the jeans gives them more edge so I gave this outfit a sporty look with the slip on sneakers and a graphic tee. I love an all black and white outfit so I kept it neutral. The leather bucket bag plays off the leather piping on the sneakers.
My last look is with a pair of white jeans. I know white jeans are super hard to keep clean but they are so worth it! And they aren’t just for spring and summer. You can totally wear them now! Just add a sweater and booties. Since everyone is sick of winter by now I styled the white jeans with pastel colors. The light blue color of this sweater is so in right now. And all of the colors in the necklace remind me of spring!
