How to be Confident in Your Clothes
Even as a “fashion blogger” I still struggle with confidence. I actually struggle with it a lot. I’m a generally shy and introverted person so putting myself out there and being in front of people is really hard for me. I tend to avoid crowds of people and a lot of times won’t go to blogging events because I feel like I won’t know anybody and having to talk to “strangers” really freaks me out!
I have gotten better over the years at interacting with people and part of that has to do with what I’m wearing. Before I started this blog I really didn’t know how to dress. I wasn’t comfortable in my clothes. It wasn’t until after I started blogging and developing my personal style that I realized how important being COMFYDENT is.
Comfydent = Comfort + Confidence. Get it? You really can’t have one without the other. There have been times when I’m all dressed up in the latest style but still not feeling confident because something about the outfit is off. It could be the color, fit or what I’m wearing underneath that’s preventing me from feeling comfydent.
So what are my tips for feeling COMFYDENT?
1) Wear what you love.
It seems like an obvious statement but it’s easy to forget when everyone is pushing the latest trend. Sure, it’s fun to mix things up a little but but don’t force yourself to wear something just because it’s popular. So what if everyone is wearing highlighter yellow? If neon’s not your thing stick with neutrals and vice versa. I tried out the neon trend for a bit but just don’t like to stand out that way. I LOVE black because it feels subdued and sexy at the same time. That’s why you’ll see me wearing a lot of it!
2) Find the right fabrics.
I’ve realized that I love breathable fabrics like linen and silk in the summer. Polyester or synthetic fabrics just don’t make me feel comfortable when it’s really hot outside. So instead of buying a lot of inexpensive polyester tops from Forever 21 I’ll invest in a silk blouse from Everlane like the one I’m wearing above. Not only am I more comfortable, I feel a little more dressed up even though I’m just wearing denim shorts and a simple blouse!
3) Find the Right Undergarments.
There’s no way you will feel comfortable if you are wearing a bra the digs into your skin or doesn’t breathe. That’s where Hanes comes in. They have a whole line of underwear that will keep you cool and comfortable so you can feel good in your clothes!
For my outfit I decided to wear the Hanes Get Cozy ComfortFlex Fit® Wire-Free Bra. I have to say this bra is the most comfortable bra I own. I totally forgot that I was wearing a bra – it just felt like a second skin. I love that there are no hooks, wires, or tags – just pull it on and forget about it! The sleek and seamless design also won’t show under your clothes so you can feel confident in any outfit!
And cotton underwear is a must – especially in summer. That’s why the Cool Comfort® Cotton Bikini Panties are made of Cool Comfort® wicking fabric that’s preshrunk to keep you cool and comfortable. They are also tagless for extra comfort!
Check out Hanes.com for special offers and deals on both of these products!

You’re not the only one! Confidence is something that we’re not all gifted with and it is a slow process. But I agree – when I’m wearing my favorite pair of underwear, I always feel more confident! Ha!
