Healthy Drinking with #FitTeaDetox
I know I said I’m not making any New Year’s Resolutions, but one thing that I’m always trying to do is be healthier. And a new year seems like a good time to re-evaluate eating habits. One thing I’m not doing enough of is drinking (and I don’t mean wine – I’ve got that covered!). I really need to work on drinking something other than coffee in the morning and wine at night. In fact, I’ve had to go to the doctor recently due to fainting spells as a result of not drinking enough water. NOT GOOD! The obvious thing to do is drink water throughout the day. But that can get boring. So a good option is to drink more tea!
FitTea recently sent me this all natural 14 Day Detox tea which I was very excited to try out. I’m a big fan of tea (as you can tell from my blog name) so I’m always willing to try out different blends. From the name of the tea it sounds like it’s only for people who are trying to lose weight – which I’m not! It does boost your metabolism and help promote fat burning but FitTea can do more than that. The all natural ingredients provide a fast-working and natural detox, boost your immune system and give you more energy – which I’m all for.
The natural ingredients are Organic Green Tea, Oolong Wu Yi, Organic Rooibos, Ginger, Pomegranate, Guarana, Birch, Stevia, Corn and Honey Powder. As you can see, the FitTea is a loose leaf blend. So I measured out a teaspoon into a tea infuser and let it steep for a couple of minutes. I thought it tasted good! It definitely has more flavor than the regular green tea I’m used to drinking. It had a little spice from the ginger and a little citrus flavor from the pomegranate. I could also taste a little bit of the sweetener but I thought it just helped to bring out the flavors of the tea. It could definitely use a little more sugar or honey if you like sweet tea.
I’ve been drinking a cup of FitTea for about a week now. It’s a nice alternative to drinking only coffee in the morning. It still has caffeine but it doesn’t leave me feeling jittery like coffee does. (You can also get FitTea in a caffeine free version).
As with any other fitness product, I believe the best results happen when combined with exercise and healthy eating. I didn’t use this tea for weight loss purposes so I can’t attest to it’s effectiveness. But I do know that tea can help suppress your appetite, is a good source of antioxidants and boosts your immune system. In general, it’s a super healthy thing to drink! And FitTea has already done the hard work of blending the best kinds together so all you have to do is add it to water!

I am actually just getting into tea at the moment! I've started drinking green tea, but I might get a bit experimental in the future so I could try this out!

Fainting spells are no good – that definitely sounds like a very important reason to stay hydrated!
I'm trying to do better and drink more water, and lately since I simply MUST have something hot to sip in the evenings I've been reaching for tea.
Chic on the Cheap
