Gingham Outfits from the Gap X DOEN Collection

As I mentioned in my DOEN Review post, I picked up several pieces from the Gap X Doen collection. Turns out, I have a thing for gingham! So below are two gingham outfits from DOEN’s latest collaboration with Gap!

Gap X DOEN Gingham Maxi Skirt and Tank

I really loved the Gap X DOEN Gingham Skirt and matching Cropped Tank! These pieces are similar to DOEN’s Sebastiane Skirt and Traveler Top. Obviously, these pieces can be worn separately or together, opening up even more outfit combinations. I chose to style them together to get the full gingham effect!

The high-waisted skirt pairs well with the cropped top, ensuring that you aren’t exposing too much belly. I chose to keep the bottom two buttons unbuttoned so that the top wasn’t too tight or puffy around my waist. You can see from the side profile photo that there is extra fabric in the top that gives it a puffed-out shape.

I did a bit of print mixing with this look by pairing it with my embroidered fruit basket bag. A statement bag is perfect for this outfit because the gingham print is subtle. I also have a red bag that would complement this outfit nicely. This skirt also looks great with a cute embroidered top. I’ve already worn it with my Sézane top.

Gingham Midi Dress Outfit

When I saw that this Linen Gingham Midi Dress was a part of the collection, I was thrilled. It looks very similar to DOEN’s Sofia Dress, which I tried on a few months ago. I really liked the Sofia Dress, but the neckline was a little too low for me. But it turns out, the version from the Gap X DOEN Collection works better on me!

I’m wearing size small in both dresses, and I think the fit is pretty similar and runs TTS. You can see that all of the design details are there—puff sleeves, tie neck, and bias-cut skirt. The major differences between the two are the materials and lining. The Gap X DOEN dress is 100% linen, and the Sofia Dress is 100% cotton. The Gap X DOEN dress is also lined, whereas the Sofia Dress is not. The neckline on the Sofia Dress is NOT adjustable, whereas the Gap version is adjustable. I personally don’t mind these differences and think they work in favor of the Gap version!

Let me know what you think about the Gap X DOEN collection!
