Flashback Fashion Fridays + Giveaway!
It only too me 31 years but I finally got a pair of converse sneakers! White sneakers are a casual closet staple so I thought why not go with the classics? Now lets just hope I can keep them clean! They are actually comfortable too – but I did have to size down a whole size! I’m wearing a size 8 and I’m usually a 9.
This is a typical weekend outfit for me – ripped jeans, a button down, and a Starbucks iced latte! I added the silk neckerchief for some subtle print mixing.
Outfit Details:
J.Crew Factory Shirt
Gap Jeans
Converse Sneakers
H&M neckerchief (similar)
Jord Watch c/0
Madewell Bag
H&M Sunglasses

Now onto Flashback Fashion Fridays! Here’s a look from last year around this time. It looks like I was a lot more into brights than I am this year! I still like the eyelet fabric of this skirt but it might be a little too bright for my taste now. We’ll see if I get a chance to take it back out this summer!
Thanks for linking up your posts!

Can’t go wrong with ripped jeans and a striped top with sneakers – Have a lovely weekend!

I adore these simple and clean lines! You can get so creative with a simple striped shirt and wear it for corporate or for a playful weekend.

I love your striped popover! Your jeans are wearing much better than mine, I have the same pair and they now have crazy huge vertical tears at the bottom of each knee 🙁

Those converse shoes are so classic; I need to add a pair to my wardrobe this summer, and that yellow skirt is beautiful!
I just bought a pair of converse, too, but being an “older woman”, I ended up needing my orthodics in them—I was surprised there wasn’t much arch support—but that’s what the orthodics are for—so I still love them!
I really love the bright yellow from last year. Sometimes it can be psychological reason for not being drawn to the brights right now! Hope you’re doing ok and thanks for hosting! jodie

It’s true…there doesn’t feel like there’s much arch support. It’s definitely a good idea to add some!
Love this simple and chic look! Obsessing over your yellow skirt from your throw back photo! Gorgeous!

This is the perfect look. I have yet to get converses and I am 30 and never owned any. I guess you can never be too old before you realize you never owned a pair. Thanks for hosting and have a nice weekend Jessica!

You look so cool!! And in other news, I’m in my mid 40s and I’ve yet to embrace the kicks trend 🙂
Please do come and join my link-up, Jessica, it’d be lovely to have you xoxo
I love the Converse shoes! I have been wanting some for ages! Any tips for keeping them sparkling white?? My email is tmichellecooper55@gmail.com
Hi Tracie! Tips for keeping them white…don’t wear them! haha…just kidding. I’ve only had mine for about 2 weeks so they haven’t gotten a chance to get dirty yet so I’m not sure. You can probably wash them though and that should help!
Love this cool kids look with your kicks, the Athleisure trend is very popular right now.

The neckerchief is a great detail to add to play off the shirt! Perfect weekend wear.
And the eyelet skirt is beautiful!
I tried Converse but like Jodie I didn’t find there was enough support for my arches but I’ve had better luck with Vans.

Thank you! There’s definitely not a lot of arch support. I’ve never tried Vans! I’ll have to check them out next time!
Love your adorable skirt, you look very pretty, thank you for sharing!!!
