This week I had the opportunity to meet Rebekah from RB Spa and Beauty and get some lash extensions! If there’s one beauty service I think everyone needs to try out it’s eyelash extensions. Seriously, they are AMAZING and will totally change your life.

I always thought I had pretty good lashes and never felt like I needed to use serums to make them grow. I usually just curl my lashes and put on mascara and eyeliner. But I was always kind of frustrated that they would never stay curled or my mascara would flake or run. Then I tried lash extensions and realized that my lashes were not living up to their full potential!

Here’s a “Before” pic of my natural lashes with no makeup/mascara – and an “After” pic with a full set of lash extensions (no mascara). The difference is dramatic! The are longer, fuller, and more curled. I LOVE that I don’t need to wear mascara or use eyelash curlers anymore. I actually don’t even need eyeliner! And eyeliner is the one makeup item that I NEVER go out in public without.

If you were wondering, the lash extension process is totally safe and won’t damage your natural lashes. As long as you have someone experienced applying them. Lash extensions are glued onto each individual lash and will shed with the natural growth cycle of your lashes. So it’s advised to go back in for a fill after 3 or 4 weeks. Caring for them is pretty easy too. The hardest part is when they are first applied because you shouldn’t get them wet for the first 48 hours. So be careful when you are washing your face! But after that everything is back to normal. You can wear eyeliner, eyeshadow or a little mascara if you want (but you won’t need it), and just make sure to use an oil free makeup remover and a q-tip to gently remove any makeup.

If you live in SoCal I definitely recommend making an appointment with Rebekah from RB Spa and Beauty. She did an absolutely amazing job with my lashes. The full set of lash extensions takes about 2 hours to apply (but totally worth it in my opinion). Rebekah will light a candle, put on some soothing music, and you won’t even realize that 2 hours has passed. You might even fall asleep – and wake up with beautiful lashes!

Have any of you tried lash extensions before? What did you think?

  3. Wow – these extensions really do make a difference! I’ve also always thought mine were pretty good on their own, but now I might just have to check it our and see the true difference. Especially because my allergies cause my eyes to water a lot and I have to skip the mascara many days.

  4. Wow! What a difference. If there was a service like this in my area, I’d definitely do it. I love that it’s natural and they will shed on their own. Great look too!

  5. I’ve never tried lash extensions but like you, I get frustrated because they don’t stay curled and sometimes my mascara doesn’t go right. I’ve had my lashes permed and tinted before but I’d like to try extensions. It’d make getting ready much easier! I love your shirt and wedge shoes 🙂

  7. I just had mine done, Jessica, about a fortnight back and I can’t imagine how I ever managed without lash extensions now 🙂 the only problem is I forgot I shouldn’t and applied waterproof mascara on mine so now they’re somewhat wild, tangled and, well, in need of a touch-up. Which, thankfully, happens in a few days. I wasn’t aware of the 48-hour keep-them-dry clause though, must check with my aesthetician. But yes, I have them, I love them (so much), and I love how yours looks too xoxoxo
