I’m sure you know that I’m a HUGE fan of Everlane. So I’m so excited to be sharing and Everlane Summer Dress Review featuring two summer dresses! My first clothing purchase from Everlane happened to be a summer dress so I’ve always loved seeing what they come out with each year. I can always count on Everlane to come out with comfortable dresses and these are no exception.

The Pinafore Dress
I’ve been drawn to neutral, prairie-style dresses recently which is why I wanted to give The Pinafore Dress a try! Also – the criss-cross tie back looked SO CUTE.
I went with the size 2 (which is my usual Everlane size) in Ash Brown. First impressions of this dress were that the fabric felt kind of like the crepe party streamers (weird – I know). It’s 95% cotton, 5% elastane with a slight texture. So I think the texture plus the slight stretch gives me the crepe paper feel. But the fabric is very lightweight and comfortable so the weird texture (in my opinion) doesn’t bother me when I’m wearing it.
What I love about this dress is the neckline and adjustable ties that wrap around the dress. I think it gives off such a subtle sexy/romantic vibe. I don’t like to show a lot of skin on my chest so having the open back is a nice alternative. You can also wrap the ties around your waist for more definition OR you can just tie them in the back if you want a loose/flowy dress. Oh – and it has pockets!
The only downside to this dress is that you can’t wear a bra with it. And the dress material is pretty thin/lightweight so I do feel kind of exposed without a bra. I will probably end up wearing this dress with some sticky cups for a little more support.
The Weekend Tiered Dress
The Weekend Tiered Dress is the ultimate “weekend” dress. It’s loose and flowy and a dress that you could lounge around in all weekend. It’s made from 100% cotton and feels like a comfortable T-Shirt material. So it definitely is a softer material than the Pinafore Dress.
I also love how this is an update from a regular T-Shirt dress. The three tiers give it some interest and the back has a cute low scoop (but not too low so you can still wear a bra). This would be a great dress if you are pregnant or postpartum. It has so much room!
I also think there are ways to style this dress. You could add a belt at the waist, throw a denim jacket overtop, and switch out the sneakers for a pair of sandals.
