You can add rain boots to the list of things I never thought I’d need in LA! But lucky for me, Everlane launched their Rain Boot a few weeks ago and it was perfect timing! It’s been super rainy here in Los Angeles for the past month or two and I actually did need a pair of rain boots!

Everlane Rain Boot Review

I was excited about these because of the ankle height and chelsea boot style. Since my legs are soooo skinny the taller rain boots don’t work for me – they always look too big!

Comfort

These are really comfortable! I actually wear them when it’s not raining too! The stretch panels on the side make it easy to bend your ankles. There’s a cushioned insole so you can walk all day in these things! They also keep my feet warm – granted – I do live in California and the temps don’t usually go below 50 degrees. But I think the platform sole helps with keeping your feet warm. With the tread + insole your feet end up being about 1 to 1 1/2 inches off the cold ground. I’ve never owned a pair of rain boots so I can’t compare them to other brands. But from what I’ve read in the reviews on Everlane’s site, it sounds like these are pretty lightweight for rain boots.

Fit

Definitely SIZE DOWN in these. I’m either an 8 1/2 or 9 in Everlane shoes and I went with size 8 (they only come in whole sizes). The size 8 fits perfectly and I still have room for thicker socks. It was kind of a struggle for me to get the boots on the first couple times with thicker socks. But I figured out how to use the pull tabs on the back and front and it’s much easier now.

I also have narrow feet and ankles but I don’t feel like my feet are swimming in these. That was my problem with other rain boots – they always seemed so clunky! But this Everlane pair is pretty sleek – even with the chunkier sole.

Price

The Everlane Rain Boot sells for $75. They are cheaper than similar style Hunter rain boots but slightly more expensive than similar Madewell rain boot. I think they are reasonably priced but not the cheapest boot on the market.

Style

I’ve found these to be really versatile. I’ve dressed them for rain with a rain coat and umbrella. But I’ve also dressed them up (like you see above) to go to blog events! Since they are a chelsea boot style I feel like I can wear them as an everyday boot as well. The rain boots comes in 5 colors, including a black version which is great if you are looking for a chic, sturdy boot to go with any outfit!

Every time I wear these boots out I get compliments! I was actually surprised because, well, they are just rain boots! But if you are looking for a stylish pair of rain boots these definitely fit the bill!

    1. Thanks! They definitely feel heavier, when I pick them up, than regular boots! But I weighed them and together they’re about 3- 3 1/2 pounds. And when I’m wearing them they don’t feel heavy at all! The biggest thing for me was getting used to walking with the platform (I’m used to walking in flat shoes). Hope that helps!
