Everlane Perform Legging Review

Leggings were gifted for review but all opinions are my own!

A few weeks ago, Everlane sent me their new Perform Legging to try out. I’ll be honest, I wasn’t that excited about the launch. I’m not really a “sporty” or athlesiure person. I also haven’t worked out in the longest time so I didn’t think I’d be wearing them that often. When Everlane asked if I wanted a pair I almost didn’t respond! But I’m sooo glad I did because these leggings are actually my new favorite thing.

Everlane Perform Legging

Everlane Perform Legging Review

Everlane touts these as the “leggings that can do it all”. I’m not sure what “doing it all” entails but according to the website it looks like they are perfect for light to moderate activity, lounging around, or doing errands. That basically sums up my day…haha.

Material and Design

These leggings are made from “premium performance fabric” from an Italian mill which consists of 58% recycled nylon and 42% elastane and made at a factory in Sri Lanka. They feature a high waist, inside pocket, minimal seams, lightweight compression, and sweat-wicking technology. The material is relatively thin so they are better for activities where you need material that breaths. These won’t keep you warm in cooler temps. They are available in four colors: Black, Lichen (a green color), Ink Grey, and Brandy Rose.

Fit

The Perform Legging comes in ankle length and regular length in sizes XXS to XXL. I found that they run pretty true to size. If in between sizes I would size up. I’m currently 5′ 8″ and 136 pounds with most of my weight around my midsection from just having a baby and I’m wearing a size Medium.

Price

The price is mid-range and reasonable for a pair of leggings at $58. I have a pair of $98 leggings from Beyond Yoga and a few cheap pairs from Old Navy and the Everlane leggings are my favorite. Plus, they are a more sustainable pair of leggings so that’s a plus.

Pros

I’ll be honest, I don’t have much experience with leggings or other legging brands. I JUST started wearing leggings on a daily basis because I’m postpartum and can’t fit in anything else! But I really love these leggings! The waist is high and goes over my belly button, which I love. They are comfortable. I don’t feel like the compression is really extreme but it does help to smooth out my postpartum belly. But my favorite thing about these leggings are the colors. The brandy rose and lichen green colors are my favorite! I was gifted the black pair which, of course, is a staple and really versatile. But I love that pair so much that I bought the brandy rose color and I love it even more! I will eventually get the lichen green color too. I also love that these are very sleek and don’t have a lot of seams. There’s also no logos or branding so it’s a very nondescript pair of leggings. I just wish that there was a matching top to go with these leggings! In the ads you’ll see the models wearing a matching bra top but Everlane hasn’t said that they are releasing a matching top so I’m not sure if that will happen.

I haven’t worked out in these leggings so I’m not sure how they hold up in light or moderate activity. But I don’t have a problem with them sagging or falling down while I’m wearing them around the house or running errands!

Cons

The material is slightly see through depending on what undergarments you wear. With the brandy rose color I could see my grey Everlane underwear slightly when I bent over. I didn’t notice any see through with the black pair. But the biggest problem I have with these leggings are the seams unraveling. I had only worn my black pair a couple times when I noticed a string that just kept getting longer and longer and eventually went all the way down the leg. I’m sure I could have contacted Everlane and asked for a new pair. But it doesn’t seem to effect the leggings at all so I didn’t bother. My rose colored pair also has a loose, unraveling seam around my waistband. I did notice one review of the leggings with the same problem so I hope it’s not an issue across the board.

Despite the flaws, I do love the Everlane leggings. I found them comfortable and versatile. I wear them lounging around the house and dressed up to run errands. I’ll definitely be adding more colors to my closet soon!
