Lately, I just want to wear comfortable, oversized sweaters so when I saw Everlane’s Oversized Stroopwafel Turtleneck I decided that I needed to try it out. I was also intrigued by Everlane’s release of their New Modern Loafer – which is an updated version of their classic loafer style that was available a couple years ago. I happened to get both of these pieces around the same time and realized they’d make a great outfit!
Everlane Oversized Stroopwafel Turtleneck + New Modern Loafer Outfit
Oversized Stroopwafel Turtleneck in ReCashmere Review
I was initially drawn to this sweater because of the oversized fit and the waffle-knit texture. I love a sweater with good texture! It also has an elongated neck (longer than a mock-neck but not quite as long as a fold down turtleneck). The sweater also has drop sleeves, step hem, and wide sleeves.
I do like the drapey-ness of this sweater. It is boxy so I like to balance that out by wearing it with skinny jeans or leggings. However, for lounging at home I think it would also work with relaxed pants or sweats.
This sweater is pretty thin so I don’t think it would be super warm in cold weather. You’d have to layer a shirt underneath for more warmth. It made from 100% recycled cashmere so it’s not itchy. However, I don’t think this sweater is SUPER soft. For softness I prefer NAADAM cashmere.

The only thing that bothers me about this sweater is that I can’t keep the sleeves up. I usually push or roll up my sleeves on sweaters to keep them out of the way. But the sleeves on this sweater are wider so they don’t stay rolled or pushed up. But that’s just a personal preference and doesn’t have anything to do with the quality of the sweater.
Everlane New Modern Loafer Review
I would usually wear my Everlane Day Gloves with an outfit like this because they are a great comfortable and casual shoe for everyday wear. BUT I decided to “dress up” my casual outfit a little bit with these loafers.
The New Modern Loafer is an updated take on their Modern Loafer that they have since discontinued. I loved the look of their “old” loafer style. I have one pair in patent leather. The old style had a more pointed toe and a sleeker look, in my opinion. This New Modern Loafer still has a tapered toe but it’s definitely not as pointed as the previous version. This is good news for you if you have a wider foot or don’t like pointed toed shoes. The New Loafer also has a slightly different stitch pattern on the top. Again, I prefer the “old” style. The good thing about the New Modern Loafer is that it’s more comfortable. The leather feels really soft and in general the shoe feels more comfortable.
Even though I prefer how the old loafer style looks, I will definitely be wearing the New Modern Loafer a lot because it is comfortable. I wore them right out of the box with no breaking in. I did have to size down to an 8.5 in the New Modern Loafer compared to the old loafer style where I wore a size 9.
Overall, this was the perfect outfit for a stroll around The Huntington Gardens. I highly suggest that you stop by The Huntington if you get a chance. It’s absolutely stunning and there’s so much to explore. We have an annual pass now and I don’t know why I waited so long to get one.
