I realized what was missing from my summer wardrobe were a pair of comfortable, everyday pants. I usually wear dresses during the summer but sometimes you just want to wear a pair of breezy, comfy pants and a tank top. So when I saw these wide leg striped trousers on Sézane’s website I knew I could create an easy summer outfit!
Easy Summer Outfit
Sézane Jacques Trousers
I was drawn to the Jacques Trousers because of the neutral stripe pattern and the cute paperbag waist. They just looked comfortable! Spoiler alert – they are! These pants also have large pockets, which is always nice. The “drawstring” rope tie waist is a cute detail, although the tie is not actually a drawstring. The waist is elastic and stretchy with a zip and hook closures. I originally thought these wide leg trousers were linen because they have that textured look. However, they are actually mostly cotton with a bit of polyester. I think I would have preferred that they were a cotton/linen blend because that’s more breathable.
If you look at the model photos on Sézane’s website you’ll notice that they look slightly cropped. I’m not super tall (5’8″) but I didn’t really like the cropped length on me. Luckily, the hem had almost 3″ of extra fabric so I had my mom take out the hem and make them longer! (You can still see the original hem line in the photos – I need to iron it out better!). Now I think they are the perfect length for me – they hit right above my foot, slightly below my ankle. I’m wearing the size 6 which is my usual size in Sézane bottoms.
Sézane Juan T-Shirt
I paired the trousers with this square neck cotton tank top in a beautiful coffee shade. It’s stretchy organic cotton and perfect for hot days. I like it so much I also bought it in black! I’m wearing the size small which is my usual size in Sézane.
Finally, I threw on my trusty denim jacket and straw bag. These two items are truly summer staples. I wear them with almost every summer outfit! And my Woven Nisolo Isla Slides are the perfect sandal to slip on!
