There’s something about the holidays that gets me in a crafty mood! I think it’s so fun to put on some Christmas music, grab a festive drink, and get to crafting!
I first saw this easy DIY HERE and thought it would be the perfect project for me because I love Oui Yogurt and I’m down for any excuse to eat some. I also love the idea of reusing the yogurt jars in a fun way.
Easy DIY Cinnamon Stick Tea Light Candle Holder
This DIY only requires a few materials and it’s so easy ANYONE can do it. All you need are some Oui by Yoplait yogurt jars, cinnamon sticks, hot glue gun, twine, and tea lights. I’m using Oui Yogurt jars because they are the perfect size and but you could really use any glass jar 3″ or shorter. Also make sure to buy Cinnamon sticks in bulk because it will be cheaper than using the small containers from the spice section.
- Oui Yogurt Jars (regular or petite work)
- Cinnamon Sticks (9oz bulk container)
- Hot Glue Gun
- Tea Lights
Literally all you have to do is hot glue the cinnamon sticks to the glass jar! I placed the glue at the bottom of the cinnamon stick and then stuck it to the jar. I would avoid placing glue at the rim of the glass jar because it will be noticeable.
To add the finishing touch, wrap some twine or string around the cinnamon sticks and tie a little bow. If you are feeling extra crafty you could even attach a little charm to the bow. You could also use a festive ribbon instead of twine.
I mean, how easy is that? I think these candle holders are great decor for Thanksgiving. They’d also be cute party favors to give your guests after Thanksgiving dinner. To make them “Christmasy” all you have to do is add a more festive ribbon.
The cinnamon sticks do give off a very faint cinnamon scent. But in order for these candles to give off a strong scent you’d need to buy scented tea lights. You could also fit a very small wax candle inside these jars.
Let me know what you think of this DIY and if you plan on trying it out! Like I said above, Oui Yogurt is REALLY good so you should definitely buy a few jars to eat and then try out this DIY.
