This past Saturday I went to a pop up shop in downtown LA featuring three California based brands – Vrai & Oro, Modern Citizen and Industry Standard. The pop up was at the Vrai & Oro offices (which are super cute) and I got the chance to meet the ladies behind the brands (who are also super cute!). I love supporting smaller business so I thought I’d share a little about them!
Vrai & Oro is a minimalist, fine jewelry company without the markups! Fine jewelry can be expensive but with Vrai & Oro you know you won’t be paying for retail markups, middlemen, storefront costs or designer inflation. All their products are made with high quality materials right here in LA and they are GORGEOUS! I didn’t pick up any pieces at the pop up but I’m definitely going to tell my hubby about it…(hint hint)!
Industry Standard is a denim brand that believes in high quality without the high price tag. The jeans are designed in New York and made in one of the best denim factories in LA! I tried on a few pairs and loved them all! But I decided to go with the Odette Midrise in white. I loved that they weren’t see through which is a problem with a lot of white jeans. They are being shipped to me right now so when I get them I’ll be able to do a full review!
And last but not least is Modern Citizen. Guys, I think I found my new favorite place to shop. I literally loved EVERYTHING. I tried on a bunch of pieces but ultimately decided to go with this cropped tank and a white off the shoulder top. And I have about 100 more on my wish list – including this grey crossbody bag.
In today’s outfit post I decided to style the cropped tank. I originally just wore this top and culottes by itself for an easy, casual look but I felt like something was missing. I had to return something at the mall and while I was there I just happened to wander into Madewell (big surprise). That’s where I found this red bandana scarf and I knew it would be the perfect accessory to complete this look. It’s amazing what one accessory can do to an outfit!

Cute look! Love how you styled that tank. It looks fabulous with the necktie, and I love your sandals.
You do minimalistic soooo well. Great brands and I can totally see Modern Citizen being 100% your style Jessica. I love the cropped sleeveless sweater and come to think of it I have a few ones (from years ago) in my closet and you are inspiring me to wear them again. The addition of the bandanna was perfect.
Welcome by and linkup with me tomorrow. A brand-new linkup is up every Thursday. Come share your great sense of style with myself and other bloggers. Thanks, Ada. =)
