When I saw this dress, my heart skipped a beat and I knew I had to add it to my cart right away! You may remember my post on The Best Shirred Dresses so you know I’m slightly obsessed with this style. The smocking around the bust is stretchy and comfortable and perfect for me right now since I’m breastfeeding. It expands or contracts with my changing bust size and I can easily pull down the panel to breastfeed.
Other things I love about this dress: It’s made out of a thick linen fabric so it’s not see-through but it’s still cool enough for summer. The puff/balloon sleeves are super dramatic and give this dress a little extra flair. And the golden rust color is gorgeous! The other great thing about this dress is that it’s part of Sézane’s Demain Collection and 10% off proceeds from this dress go to charity.
I was worried that this dress would be too short on me since I’m a little on the taller side (5’8″) and have long legs. I tend to gravitate towards longer dresses because that feels more comfortable for me. But I was pleasantly surprised that this dress passes the finger tip test and when I lift my arms up it doesn’t get any shorter due to how the sleeves are made. To make me feel a little more comfortable, I added lace up espadrilles to “cut off my legs” and make them appear a little shorter. I feel like this helps balance out the shorter dress!
