Citizens of Humanity Ayla Jeans Review

The Citizens of Humanity Ayla Baggy Cuffed Crop Jeans are a baggy, wide leg jean with an untacked cuff that can also be worn un-cuffed, making this a very versatile pair of denim! They are made from 100% cotton that helps to give the denim their shape. I feel like the leg has a slight balloon shape to it which I think makes this pair more interesting than a regular wide leg pant.

Ayla Baggy Cuffed Crop Jeans Sizing

My measurements: 33-28-38, 5’8″, 30D, 120lbs

The Ayla jeans are intended to have a loose baggy fit so take your normal size if you want to achieve that look. My usual size in denim is a 27 so I initially went with that size in the Ayla jeans. In the photo below on the left I’m wearing the Ayla jeans in Bandit size 27. I had a slightly bigger waist when I ordered the size 27 but they were still relaxed on my waist. However, as I lost a little belly fat they started to feel a little too loose for my taste. And these are 100% cotton so they will loosen up a little as you wear them.

Because I love these jeans so much I decided to size down to a 26 and get the Ayla jeans again so they would fit a little tighter. In the photo on the right I’m wearing the Ayla in Bravo in size 26. I definitely prefer how these fit around the waist. P.S. in the photo on the left I’m wearing them cuffed once and in the photo on the right I’m wearing them rolled up twice which is why they look a little shorter.

So overall the Ayla jeans are oversized and you can definitely size down. Keep in mind that the looser they are the lower they will sit on your waist. So if you want them to hit higher on your waist you should definitely size down one or even two sizes.

Where to Buy Citizens of Humanity Jeans

Obviously, you can buy Citizens of Humanity jeans directly from their website. However, I’ve noticed that they don’t really have sales or promotions. I ended up buying both of my Ayla pairs from Anthropologie because they went on sale for 20-30% off. Citizens of Humanity jeans are also available at other retailers like Nordstrom, Free People, Revolve, and Shopbop. Unfortunately, a lot of times COH jeans are excluded from sales BUT I’ve still been able to get mine at a discount. You just have to find the right sale!
