Christy Dawn Scarlet Dress Review
I chose this dress because of the simplicity and Pride + Prejudice (or Bridgerton) vibes. I also LOVED the rust color. I think this dress will work year round. In the fall I’ll wear it with tights and boots and in the summer it will look great as is!

Size and Fit
My Measurements: 33-28-38
I’m wearing the size small, which is my usual Christy Dawn size, and it fits perfectly. The product notes mention that the bodice runs narrow but I found it pretty true to size. I would say it’s even slightly loose on my upper body/waist. But since the fabric is not stretchy, I might size up if you are in between sizes just in case. This style dress looks good when it’s tight fitting and when it’s looser so you can’t go wrong.

The Scarlet dress does come in other colors and slightly different fabric blends. So make sure to take that into account. The Scarlet dress in Rust that I’m wearing is made from a mid weight rayon material and it does feel like it has some weight to it. This particular fabric is not sheer but some of the other Scarlet fabrics are.
Overall, I love the simple details of this dress – the pleated skirt, the butterfly sleeves, and scoopneck. It’s not quite warm enough to be wearing this dress but when warmer temps roll around I’m sure I’ll be wearing this dress non-stop. It looks like it’s mostly sold out in all the colors but I’m sure Christy Dawn will be restocking the Scarlet dress so make sure to sign up for the waitlist!

I also wanted to mention that I purchased this dress with a gift card that I got from cashing out my thredUp earnings. If you are unfamiliar with thredUP they are a secondhand site where you can sell your gently worn clothes. After my closet clean-outs I order a Clean Out bag from thredUP, fill it with all the clothes I no longer wear, and send it back (for free!) to thredUP and they take care of selling for me. The earnings go to my account and I can either send the money to my bank or cash out through one of their partners for a gift card! Christy Dawn is one of their partners and they offer a bonus for cashing out through them so I was able to turn my $106 into a $122 Christy Dawn gift card!
