Christy Dawn Lou Lou Jacket and Judene Pant Outfit
A beautiful, quilted jacket that’s also REVERSIBLE? Yes, please! When I first saw the Christy Dawn Lou Lou Jacket I was smitten. I loved that it had two completely different prints that also complemented each other. When Christy Dawn asked me if I wanted to try out the Lou Lou Jacket I jumped at the chance! I thought it would go perfectly with the Judene Pants that I had bought earlier this year.

Christy Dawn Lou Lou Jacket Review
The Lou Lou Jacket is a reversible quilted jacket made from 100% Regenerative Cotton. It has patch pockets on both sides AND a double sided button closure which makes it possible to wear the jacket inside and out. One side is a classic plaid pattern and the other side is a daisy block print.
I’m wearing the size small, which is my usual size, and as you can see it’s a comfortable oversized fit. I would suggest taking your usual size since it’s supposed to be a slightly oversized, boxy. If you are planning on wearing sweaters underneath you’ll definitely want the extra room!
I love that this jacket can be worn multiple ways – you are literally getting two jackets in one! My favorite side happens to be the plaid but I love that when you roll up the sleeves you get a peak at the daisy block print! The other thing I love about this jacket is that there are pockets on both sides – and you can use both at the same time!
The only issue I can see with this jacket is possible color transfer from the indigo dyes used. On the website it does mention that color transfer might occur and that the white piping might also turn a light blue from the dyes after wearing and washing. I haven’t had my jacket long enough to see how it holds up but I’m assuming the blue with bleed a little bit – like dark indigo jeans. So I would avoid wearing this jacket with light colors until you’ve washed it enough to get the excess color out. I would also be careful wearing light colored leather bags with this jacket.
P.S. The Lou Lou jacket is also available in a red colorway that is gorgeous too! And it doesn’t mention on the website that the red version has color transfer.
Christy Dawn Judene Pant Review
I paired my Christy Dawn Lou Lou Jacket with the Judene pants and I think it’s the perfect pairing! The light olive color goes perfectly with the indigo blues. I love the style and look of them but the fit around the waist is a little off for me. I’m typically a size 6 in bottoms so I ordered the Judene Pant in a size 6. While the size 6 does fit I just felt the waist was very tight. I think I was a bit heavier when I ordered them in the spring and have since lost a little weight in my belly so the pants fit better now.
So even though I’ve had these pants for awhile I haven’t worn them a ton. The waist still bothers me a little. I feel like the waist seam underneath the button is tighter than the top of the pant. All this to say, if you are right in-between sizes I would take your larger size.
I do think you can style these pants year-round. In the fall be sure to wear them with higher boots because the pants are cropped. But in the spring/summer I think they look cute with ballet flats! The material is 100% organic cotton which has a nice soft, worn in feel. The cotton is pretty light though so they might now be warm enough for cold winter days.
