Christy Dawn Bodie Dress Review
I was intrigued by the Bodie Dress because it looked very similar to the Brooklyn Dress, which I love! It has the same smocked bodice and long tiered skirt. The difference is the Bodie is sleeveless with cute ruffles on the shoulder instead of short sleeves. The Brooklyn Dress is really comfortable so I was hoping for the same from the Bodie Dress. The Bodie Dress definitely didn’t disappoint! It’s super comfortable and the sleeveless/ruffled sleeve is perfect for hot summer days.
Size and Fit
I’m wearing the size small which is my usual Christy Dawn sizes so I think this dress runs TTS. The great thing about this dress is that it’s very flexible size-wise. The smocking is very stretchy so it can accommodate varies bust sizes. This is a great pregnancy-friendly dress due to the full skirt and stretchy smocking. I don’t know why it’s not mentioned on the website but this dress does have pockets! Yay!
Material
The Bodie Dress is a part of the Farm-to-Closet initiative which means it’s made from 100% regeneratively grown cotton. I’ve found that their regeneratively grown cotton dresses are really soft. I have the Bodie Dress in this really cute Garden Party print which consists of red and blue flowers that are block printed using organic dyes. It’s also available in another block printed pattern if this one doesn’t float your boat!
How to style the Bodie Dress
I accessorized my outfit with my Sézane Justine bag which is my go-to summer bag. It goes in and out of stock pretty quickly so make sure to set up a Back in Stock alert! Sézane has a ton of other basket bags available though that are all really cute. I have a smaller straw bag from Sézane a couple years ago that I still use today!
Finally, I added my gingham block heel shoes for some subtle print mixing! I’m sad these aren’t available anymore because they are a really fun shoe! They remind me of a picnic! I also have a pair of red suede sandals that I love to wear with this outfit too. You can find similar suede sandals from the brand Ma’am!
P.S. If you need an extra layer for those cold air-conditioned rooms, then check out Tradlands Cardigans! I wear my blue Shelter Cardigan with this dress too!
