Whenever I get a new Christy Dawn dress, I say to myself, “This is it! I’ve completed my collection!”. But then they drop another AMAZING dress and I CAN. NOT. RESIST. That was the case with the Christy Dawn Antara Dress. But luckily for you, that means I get to do another Christy Dawn dress review!

Christy Dawn Antara Dress Review

How do I love thee? Let me count the ways. I love the blueberry print with the contrasting gingham piping and ties. I love the cup outline on the bust. I love the adjustability of the smocked back, neck tie, and shoulder ties. It’s just SO CUTE.

Size and Fit

Measurements: 34-29.5-39.5, 30D, 135lbs, 5’8″

I’m wearing the size small, my usual size in Christy Dawn Dresses. I found this dress to run SMALL in the bust and waist. Now, technically, I am a size Medium in the waist according to Christy Dawn’s size chart. But most of my Christy Dawn dresses are a size Small, and they all fit perfectly. I would say the tightest fitting size small I have is the Emma Dress, but I still wouldn’t size up in it. With this dress, I definitely could have taken the size Medium. There is still some stretchiness in the bodice due to the smocked back panel. But there’s also a side zipper and hook closure and I feel like I have to really suck in to get it zipped.

Unfortunately, it looks like this print is sold out at the moment. HOWEVER, the Antara Dress also comes in a red version with 3 different prints – which I think is REALLY cool! I think it gives the dress a totally different vibe. This is a dress I would be ok getting in both prints! FYI – always check the details box for each print because sometimes details change. For example, it looks like the red fabric is a little thicker than the blue print and doesn’t require a lining.

Styling the Christy Dawn Antara Dress

I usually wear a light layer with my Christy Dawn dresses because I get cold inside. I thought this Sézane jacket would be perfect for this dress. It’s slightly cropped, so it’s not too bulky around the hips. It’s also an off-white color, which goes nicely with this dress. I’ll also wear my Sézane Gaspard cardigans with my Christy Dawn Dresses.

I accessorized with a statement red bag from Atelier Madre. It’s a beautiful leather bag handmade at their Atelier in Barcelona, Spain. I love that you can watch the bag-making process on their Instagram. Atelier Madres makes some really unique bags – I especially love the croissant bag! I also love that their bags come in multiple colors. And if you are lucky enough to be in Barcelona, you can stop by their Atelier to see them make your bag in person!
