Christy Dawn Adelia Dress Review

Christy Dawn Adelia Dress Review

The Adelia Dress comes in 5 prints including a gorgeous black velvet holiday style! However, only the Blooming Pomegranate print I’m wearing is 30% off as a part of their Black Friday Sale. It’s a gorgeous print though that works well for fall and winter. It’s kind of hard to tell what the colors are but I believe that the background color is a dark navy with purples, maroon, and light blue floral designs. The multiple colors in this pattern give the dress more dimension, which I love. I also love the long puff sleeves with smocking that allow you to push up the sleeves if you don’t want them full length.

Size and Fit

The Adelia Dress fits True to Size for me. I’m wearing the size small, my usual size in Christy Dawn. The great thing about Christy Dawn dresses is that they are flexible and adjustable with sizing. The Adelia dress has a functional tie at the neckline and the waist with smocking around the waist as well. I used to be a true size small across all brands but now I fluctuate between a small and medium. However, ALL of my Christy Dawn dresses from when I was a bit smaller still fit perfectly. If you are unsure of your size I would pay more attention to your bust measurements because the body of the skirt is loose and offers a lot of wiggle room size-wise.

How I Style the Christy Dawn Adelia Dress

This dress is stunning on its own without adding anything. But for the colder months, I do throw a cardigan over top and add a pair of tall boots. In these photos, I’m wearing a dark navy cardigan to pull out the blue shades. But a maroon or purple cardigan would look just as good! I’ve also worn my Sézane Will Jacket over a lot of my Christy Dawn dresses and I think it looks great. Since the dress is made out of a lightweight organic cotton I do feel that tights or a slip are necessary when it’s cold outside. (I love these fleece-lined tights!).
