When I saw Emily’s Black Short Suit I thought it could be an easy outfit to re-create! I mean, who doesn’t own a black blazer, t-shirt and black shorts?  The lace/crochet shorts gives this all black outfit a little more interest which is what drew me to this short suit combo.
I’m happy to say that my outfit (excluding accessories) comes in around $100 whereas Emily’s outfit costs $300+.  I’m not saying that’s a good or bad thing.  Because…if I had the money I’d probably buy a $100+ blazer instead of a $40 one.  But I’m wondering…do designer (or more expensive) items make an outfit look better?  What do you think?

  2. This is one of my favorite outfits on you, ever! i love the textures and contrast with the lace. I think the more expensive items have better quality in their construction, but you can't tell unless they are side by side. I love having more items for less, anyway:)

  3. I like yours so much better than hers honestly! I think yours fits you better and you just wear it so much better. I love the look!

  5. I honestly think your outfit looks just as good!! And those shorts are sooo cute. I've been dying for some lace/crochet ones but I'm a little tight on the money right now…too much shopping! I did see a DIY on pinterest where someone glued/sewed lace around a pair of soffe shorts (those cheap cotton shorts with the elastic waist) and I'm thinking of trying that!
