The Best LA Fashion Brands
One of the things I love about living in Los Angeles is that so many great brands are based here. Recently, I’ve started to look into shopping more from brands based in Los Angeles because I definitely believe in supporting local businesses. Plus a lot of these brands are using sustainable practices. Here’s a look at some of my favorite LA fashion brands!
Fashion Brands Based in LA
Moon River
Moon River is inspired by the song of the same name from “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” and the designs evoke a natural, feminine aesthetic with vintage touches. Everything is designed in the Fashion District of LA! I recently bought this dress and I’m in love! You can also find Moon River pieces at Nordstrom and ASOS!
Mijeong Park
Formally known as ACHRO, MIJEONG PARK has a collection full of sophisticated, minimal designs. Everything is designed in the Arts District of LA. I actually had the opportunity to meet the team a couple of months ago and style a few pieces. Everyone is super sweet and I loved that the pieces also worked for my pregnant belly (gotta love the oversized look!). Check out my posts here and here.
Reformation
All the cool girls of LA wear Reformation! This is a brand that definitely has more national attention and represents Los Angeles Style. Reformation is known for it’s edgy yet feminine designs that are made out of sustainable materials. Most of the collection is made in downtown LA and everything else is made by manufacturing partners that use sustainable methods and materials. I love their tagline: “Being naked is the #1 most sustainable option. We’re #2”.
Staud
STAUD is a vintage inspired brand that focuses on simple, feminine designs. The co-founder, Sarah Staudinger, was the former Fashion Director at Reformation who decided to launch her own brand in 2015. I’m absolutely dying over this bucket bag! And everything is designed and made in Los Angeles!
Marais USA
Marais USA is a Los Angeles based shoe and accessory brand that specializes in curated collections with French sensibilities. The shoes are made in Los Angeles by workers who are paid a fair wage. Marais is also planning to expand into clothing and recently launched a swimwear collaboration! I recently purchased a pair of Jardin Heels, which is their signature style, and a matching bucket bag. I absolutely LOVE the style and quality.
Clare V.
Clare V. is another LA based accessory brand with French sensibilities. The line is designed by Clare who spends her time between Los Angeles and France. The pieces are simple and modern, yet cute and quirky. And the line has been made in Los Angeles since 2008! I have one of the flat clutches and I love the simple, chic style!
Vrai & Oro
Vrai & Oro is minimalist jewelry perfection! This Los Angeles jewelry brand specializes in ethically made fine jewelry that is transparently priced. And everything is made in LA! I’ve had the chance to meet the team here in Los Angeles and they are lovely and really care about creating gorgeous pieces at a fair price. Not to mention the pieces are GORGEOUS! They also have a stunning collection of engagement and wedding rings which are simple and timeless!
Janessa Leone
Janessa Leoné is an accessories label based in Los Angeles. Although, they are probably best known for their timeless and minimal hat designs. Each piece is handmade in the USA using high quality materials from around the world. This brand has definitely gained a cult following with celebrities and influencers!
Jesse Kamm
Known for her signature wide leg crop pants, Kammpants are a favorite with LA fashionistas!
Garrett Leight
Garrett Leight frames are inspired by the California lifestyle and are simple yet trendy and chic. Garrett’s dad started the brand Oliver Peoples so this is a family that knows how to do eyewear!
DÔEN
DÔEN was founded by two California raised sisters who collaborative with other Los-Angeles based women to create romantic, vintage inspired pieces.
San Fransisco based fashion brands
If you are willing to go a little north of Los Angeles, there are brands based in San Fransisco that I love!
Everlane
Everlane is a minimalist fashion brand based out of San Fransisco that I’m OBSESSED with. All of their pieces are ethically made and transparently priced. So you are getting quality designs for a fraction of the price. You can see how I’ve styled all of my Everlane pieces here.
Modern Citizen
Modern Citizen is another brand based out of San Fransisco that specializes in simple, modern clothes, accessories, and home goods. You can see how I’ve styled my Modern Citizen pieces here and here!
Kin the Label
Kin the Label is a hat brand based out of San Fransisco founded by two sisters. All hats are handmade in the USA using quality materials. The designs are classic and minimal. I love these hats because they all have an adjustable sweatband which is great for small heads like mine. See how I’ve styled my Kin the Label hats here and here!
Have you shopped at any of these brands? Which ones are your favorite?
Nice list! A couple other San Francisco-based brands that offer quality, minimalist clothing are Waltz Studios (https://waltzstudio.com) and SKYE (https://shop-skye.com). Both offer really classy pieces and excellent customer service!
