I’m currently in Pennsylvania and man is it hot and humid! I’m used to the heat in California in the summer but I don’t like the humidity…or the rain. I wasn’t really prepared for how hot it would be when I was packing clothes for my trip. I ended up packing a lot of pants and long sleeved shirts…haha. But I did manage to find an outfit that works even in the heat and humidity.

I think the key to dressing for hot summer days is a pair of high waisted, wide leg pants and a linen tank in neutral colors.

I like this combo because it looks effortless, chic AND it’s comfortable. Linen is a great fabric for summer because it’s breathable and durable. I’m not a big fan of shorts so a pair comfortable and breezy wide leg pants are my go-to. If they are high waisted it’s even better, in my opinion, because you can pair them with crop tops without showing too much skin or tie your button front tops for a laid back look. And choosing light neutral colors like khaki and cream means you’ll be cooler in that summer heat as well. Plus, it gives you that summer-vacation-resort-vibe.

I’ve had these & Other Stories trousers for a couple months now and even though they aren’t linen, they are still pretty cool and breathable since they are 100% cotton. Sadly, they are sold out but I LOVE this linen/cotton pair. (I actually have this pair in green). I love to pair them with my crop tops but this time I took this linen tank and unbuttoned the bottom buttons so I could tie the front to create a crop top appearance. To finish the look I layered my favorite gold necklaces with the newest edition to my jewelry box – this Mejuri locket necklace. I think it’s the perfect addition to my neck party – is that a thing?

I wore this outfit for a day exploring a nearby town with my mom. We had lunch at a tea shop and then I got some coffee and lavender gelato at a gelato shop! It was super hot and humid but I actually felt as cool as I could be in this look!

  1. This is a cute way to beat the heat! The tie knot cami pairs great with your high waisted trousers giving you such a chic and relaxed vibe. I am not a fan of humidity either so staying cool and fresh is the name of the game! I hope you are enjoying your time in PA! Wishing you a fantastic weekend ahead.
