I have to admit – I’m really late to the Barbour jacket fan club. I actually just discovered the brand (I know, where have I been?!). Admittedly, I didn’t have much use for jackets living in California but now that I’m on the east coast I’ve been shopping for A LOT of coats. So when I saw the Barbour X ALEXACHUNG collection I immediately clicked “add to cart”. It was love at first sight! In today’s post I’m going to talk a little about the Barbour brand and show you how I styled the Alexa Chung Barbour Jacket for fall!
Alexa Chung Barbour Jacket
About Barbour Jackets
Barbour is a British brand founded in 1894 that has a long, rich history of making jackets and coats. They have become most well-known for their waterproof waxed cotton outerwear, which is a British country clothing staple. Barbour even holds a royal warrant to supply waterproof and protective clothing to the British family!
Alexa Chung Collaboration
Alexa Chung is a British model/fashion designer who launched her eponymous fashion brand in 2017. Her line combines Parisian chic with New York edge and a British sensibility. ALEXACHUNG’s collaboration with Barbour blends the brand’s classic Barbour pieces with feminine and modern design elements. The AW21 collection draws specific inspiration from outfits worn by pioneers and explorers in the early 20th century to embrace a sense of adventure and travel.

Barbour X ALEXACHUNG Gala Casual Jacket
I chose the Gala Casual Jacket from the collection. I was immediately drawn to the fireman hook closures on the front. Other details like the corduroy collar, plaid liner, and concealed zipper sealed the deal. Oh, and the gorgeous green color was also calling my name (although it appears to be sold out in this color)
I’m wearing the size 4 (which is my usual size) and it definitely has an oversized fit but I think it’s perfect for layering over chunky sweaters – like the one I’m wearing! I paired this Barbour jacket with my cropped wool sweater, houndstooth mini skirt and lace up boots for a cute fall look.

Overall, I really love this jacket. I think it’s warm enough that I can wear it in the colder winter months. And the details on it are just *chefs kisses*. This is my first experience with a Barbour jacket and now I’m definitely hooked. I probably should have started out with one of their waxed jackets, since that’s what they are known for but I just couldn’t say no to the cute details on this one. So for my next Barbour purchase I will definitely be buying one of their classic waxed jackets.
