Usually my cottagecore outfits are reserved for summer but when I saw the Brooklyn Dress in this gorgeous winter floral print, I realized I could create a winter cottagecore outfit!
Winter Cottagecore Outfit
Christy Dawn Brooklyn Dress
My measurements: 33-28-28, 5’7″, 117lbs
The Brooklyn Dress is a staple style from Christy Dawn. They usually have it available in a variety of colors and prints and it’s been on my wishlist for awhile! I love the smocked bodice and little puffed sleeves. And did I mention the print is gorgeous??
I’m usually a size small in Christy Dawn and I feel like their styles run a little small in general. So I took the size small in this as well. I actually think I might be able to fit in the XS because the smocked bodice is very stretchy. The size small is a little bit looser around my waist but I could always add a belt to cinch it in more. Overall, the size small is very comfortable on me without being too tight.
I did have an issue with the print on the bodice of this dress though. The print was slanted on the smocked bodice which made my chest appear lopsided. I didn’t know if this was normal for this style dress but it seemed like the print should be straight across and not at an angle. I emailed customer service with a photo and they were happy to let me exchange it for another one. The new one I received was perfect and had the pattern going straight across!
Doen Pomme Cardigan + Nisolo Boots
To complete the winter cottage core look I added the Doen Pomme Cardigan and Nisolo Amalia Boots. This pom pom cardigan is SO FUN and I’m so happy that I picked it up during one of Doen’s sales. (P.S. they have a sale going on RIGHT NOW until March 13th 2022)! I’m pretty sure this cardigan comes back in stock occasionally so keep an eye out!
And I LOVE my Nisolo Amalia boots. I’ve gotten so much wear out of them this past year. They are my go-to boot for all kinds of weather. I really want to pick them up in another color!
