Ethically Made Knitwear from Christy Dawn
When I think of Christy Dawn I usually think of their beautiful dresses. But did you know Christy Dawn also makes gorgeous knitwear as well?! Here are a few pieces I’ve been gifted recently that I wanted to share!
Sonny Sweater and Sonny Pant Review
The Sonny Sweater and Sonny Pant are a set you can pair together to create a chic lounge outfit for at home. Or you can wear separately to create casual outfit for running errands. They are made from 70% organic cotton from organic certified farms without the use of synthetic pesticides or GMOs. Combined with 30% superfine alpaca from Peru. The combo creates a soft, lightweight sweater set that still keeps you warm! I’m wearing the size small in the top and bottom and I’d say it runs true to size.
I do really like this set because I feel like I’m wearing pajamas but somehow still feel cute…haha. I also like that I can wear this sweater with jeans for a “regular” everyday outfit. However, I do find that the knit is slightly itchy. I have trouble wearing the sweater for extended periods of time because I start to get too itchy. I can wear a light shirt underneath and that helps a lot. I don’t really have that problem with the pants so sometimes I’ll wear a different sweatshirt with the Sonny Pants. I would say I’m slightly sensitive to wool so if you are really sensitive I would probably avoid this set.
The Cecille Sweater Review
The Cecille Sweater is made from the same organic cotton/alpaca blend as the Sonny Set. So it’s soft and lightweight as well but also slightly itchy. I usually wear an undershirt under my sweaters though to keep them from getting dirty so that helps a lot with this sweater. I like this sweater because of the cute scallop details on the collar and cuffs as well as the dainty buttons down the front. It’s a simple, feminine piece that pairs well with denim and skirts. I’m wearing the size small and it runs TTS. I have the Cecille Sweater in Noir but it also comes in a pretty neutral Oat shade.
Both the Sonny Set and Cecille Sweater say dry-clean only but I just hand wash them in cold water and air dry.
