A Monochromatic Summer to Fall Outfit
When fall comes around I’m drawn to rich fall colors and textures. This outfit is pretty much the perfect representation of that! This rust, brown color is probably my favorite shade for fall so I thought I’d create an entire outfit around it!
How to put together a monochromatic outfit
In order for a one-color-outfit to not turn out too boring you need to mix and match different fabrics and textures. For example, I picked a corduroy skirt and paired it with a silk blouse with an embossed print. My croc-embossed bag adds another layer of texture to the look. I also think it’s nice to add a contrasting accent color somewhere in the outfit so I decided to add these off-white booties to the mix! I could have worn my croc-embossed sandals with this look instead and added a white bag and it would have given the same effect!
How to transition a summer outfit to fall
Since it’s still warm in California I’m wearing this outfit without tights. If I had worn sandals this look would definitely be more summer appropriate. To transition this outfit to fall just add tights and booties! That’s basically my summer to fall moto – “just add tights and booties“. For even cooler weather a long blazer or wool coat would look great with this look as well! I actually took inspiration for this look from the Sezane lookbook so this brown faux fur coat would look AMAZING with this outfit!
