A Linen Set from Darling Magazine

The women empowerment magazine, Darling, recently launched their own capsule-focused clothing line! I’ve been a fan of Darling’s aesthetic for awhile so when I heard they were launching a clothing line I knew it would be cute! I’m excited that they asked me to try out this cute linen set from their recent monthly drop.

About Darling Magazine

Darling magazine was founded in 2009 by Sarah Dubbledam, a former model, who was hoping to shift cultural mindsets on beauty and self-esteem. Hoping to change the conversation around women and body image, Darling was the first magazine to not photoshop women’s body and skin. Since then the magazine has morphed into a media company and lifestyle brand – most recently launching a capsule clothing line!

Darling Magazine Capsule Collections

Darling started with a 20-piece “Paris meets Copenhagen” collection that features minimalist pieces that create the foundation of a versatile wardrobe. The pieces are ethically made in China from made from cotton, linen, rayon, and viscose blends. Right now that collection is 47% sustainable. You can read more about Darling’s production process here.

Darling also releases Monthly Drops with “trendier” pieces. The linen set that I picked out is from the Tuscon Summer Collection. I loved the more feminine designs in this capsule. And while Darling’s regular capsule collection is all neutrals, the Tuscon Summer Capsule has the gorgeous green and clay shades!

I also fell in love with all the details – the puff sleeves and interesting V-neckline on the top. And the double belt with horn buckle details on the skirt. I love that I can wear the top and skirt together as a set or wear them individually. The top looks super cute with a pair of high waisted denim and the skirt looks great with simple tees too.

Size and Fit

My measurements: 33-28-38, 130lbs, 5’8″

I’m wearing the size small in both the top and skirt, which is my usual size across different brands. I would say these pieces run a little big – although the size chart is accurate. I could have fit in the XS for both pieces. The size small top does slide off my shoulders a bit. I went with size small because that’s my usual size and lately and I’ve even been taking a medium in some pieces. So I didn’t want to go with the XS in case things ran small. The good news is – the skirt is really adjustable so I didn’t have a problem making it tighter. The skirt also has an elastic waist back which allows it to stretch a lot. I think if you are in-between sizes you can take your smaller size and if you want a tighter fit you can size down.

The material has a really nice feel to it and is made from 56% linen and 44% rayon. So it has the feel of linen but the rayon makes it softer and drape nicely. The “Cilantro” shade is also a really pretty green color. The “Clay” colorway is really pretty as well.

I thought my brown leather accessories would pair really nicely with the hunter green shade. I love the “earthy” color combo in this outfit. The rich green and brown looks really nice together. This outfit also makes me feel like I’m on a European vacation. I can imagine myself wearing this in the Italian countryside. Someone please take me there ASAP!
