A Gingham Photoshoot – “When Life Gives You Lemons…”

Due to the quarantine I’ve been trying to be more creative with my photos inside. Now that I have a toddler and a newborn, it also makes it a little easier to get photoshoots in because I don’t have to scout locations and set up outside! One of the things I’ve discovered is how much I like taking photos in front of a white sheet! It’s a blank canvas to create whatever you want! Plus, you don’t have to have a clean house in order to take photos because the white sheet hides all! P.S. if you want to see the behind the scenes of how I set up my white sheet – check out this post!

This photoshoot was inspired by this photo that I found on Pinterest. I loved the vintage vibes and I realized I had a green gingham dress that still fits! I also have vintage glasses that I love to use for photoshoots so it was perfect! I’m usually a neutrals person but I’ve been feeling colors lately. I think it’s because summer is around the corner and I’m looking for something to brighten these quarantine days. I don’t know if I’d normally pair these red gingham heels with a green gingham dress but I think it works for this shoot!

Since I’m in a creative mood I’ll give this shoot a title – “When Life Gives You Lemons”. Because life does feel like a lot of lemons right now. But I’m trying to make the best of it and look on the bright side. My husband isn’t working now because of COVID but that means he’s gotten to spend time at home with me and the kids! It’s been such a blessing to have him around the house to help and to entertain our toddler. I’ve been able to focus more on the baby and it’s been nice. I’ve also had less FOMO and kinda feel less lonely because I know that everyone is going through the same thing.
