I mentioned this dress back in my August Budget post and I’m finally wearing it! It’s my first dress from Anthro (on major sale – $40!) and I’m really happy with it.  I’ve always wanted a “fit and flare” style dress and I think this is the first one I own!
The hardest thing about wearing dresses – I think – is trying to style them multiple times.  I usually get in a rut and wear the same jewelry/accessories.  Especially with a dress the has such a pretty pattern like this one.  But the easiest way to mix things up is to add a belt.  I love the Anthropologie beaded belts!  I also think this dress would look good with a complimentary color like a yellow belt or accessories. I just don’t have any at the moment!

How would you style this dress?

  1. This could be worn tons of ways!! Add an oxford and tie at bottom. Throw on a blazer! Add a denim jacket. Put a long sleeve top under it. It's a beaut & a staple! 🙂

  2. fit and flares are my FAVORITE- and how great are anthros sales? of the treasures you can find for cheap! i think i'd probably wear a collared blouse under that dress, or layer a sweater over it and transform it into a pretty, full skirt 🙂

  3. I totally agree – a dress like this is so easy to wear because it's practically an entire outfit in and of itself, but trying to style it up differently each time is challenging, especially when it's warm out. When things cool off a little, I'd try pairing it with jackets (denim & faux leather come to mind) and cardigans of varying colors and textures. I even bet a sweater or button up over top would look adorable, too! So, I guess what I'm saying is, come on autumn! haha

  4. I can definitely relate to the challenge of dresses, but if you can layer a little, you can do a lot! Jackets, Blazers, cardigans, button down shirts, vests, scarfs… I'm sure you will find something that works!
I love fit and flare dresses – they are by far my favorites!
