A DOEN Nightgown and Vintage-Inspired Sleepwear
If you think about it, sleepwear gets the most use out of all the items in your closet. And if you’re like me, it’s also the most neglected area of your wardrobe. I’m guilty of wearing the same old sweats and t-shirts every night. I’ve been trying to change that over the past year and I’ve added some cute pieces to my pajama drawer. My latest addition is this vintage-inspired nightgown from DOEN.
A DOEN NIGHTGOWN
I decided to have a little fun with this nightgown and take it outside to the woods for an “Escape from the Madhouse” vibe photoshoot.
This nightgown is definitely light and semi-sheer so I normally wouldn’t wear it as a day dress unless I had a slip underneath. I have seen some people accessorize this dress for daytime wear but I’ll probably stick with it being just a nightgown. I LOVE how light and airy the cotton voile material is. I prefer to wear this type of cotton at night instead of stiffer cotton poplin like this nightgown.
My Favorite Vintage-Inspired Sleepwear
I feel like vintage-inspired sleepwear is having a moment now – especially with the cottagecore trend that’s taking over. Anything with ruffles, embroidery, florals, and smocking is what you want to look for. Of course, I LOVE all the nightgowns from DOEN. They do have a lot to choose from and they are soooo comfortable. Hill House also has comfortable cotton voile nightgowns (I have this one) as well as their popular “Nap Dress”. Sleeper makes beautiful linen nightgowns. And finally, Etsy is the place to look if you want actual vintage nightgowns.
