After about 6 years of blogging you start to develop friendships with other bloggers and even though you’ve never met they can feel like your good friends! And every once in awhile you are lucky enough to actually meet them in person! That’s what happened to me recently. I got the chance to meet up with Lydia from Chic on the Cheap! We’ve been blog friends forever. Her blog is one of the first blogs I remember following when I first started. So it was fun to finally meet her in person!

Abbot Kinney Boulevard
We met up at The Butcher’s Daughter on Abbot Kinney Boulevard. It’s a popular spot and this was my first time going there! We both had the Impossible Burger – which is a vegetarian burger that’s supposed to taste exactly like meat! It was definitely good but I still can’t give up my medium rare burgers…haha. But the Butcher’s Daughter is a vegetarian restaurant so there wasn’t a meat option. I still definitely recommend stopping there if you are in the area. The vibes are so California chic!
After lunch I had to make a stop at Blue Star Donuts. Seriously guys, THE BEST DONUTS! I love the interesting flavors like Raspberry Rosemary Buttermilk and Blueberry Bourbon Basil.
Venice Canals
After all that food we went to the canals for some photos! I’d heard a lot about the canals but had never visited! They are pretty cute. I love how all the houses have little docks with boats. It would definitely be a fun place to live if there weren’t so many tourists taking pictures there all the time! But I’m glad I got to check it off my bucket list!

Venice Coffee Shop
We made one more stop while we were in Venice to the Flowerboy Project. It’s the cutest little coffee shop/flower shop/gift shop. I also love it because they have both a lavender latte and a rose latte! Those are my favorite flavors!

What I wore for a day in Venice California
It’s still hot in California (obviously) but we were lucky that there was cloud cover the whole day! I took my new rouje cami out for a spin and paired it with white denim jeans. It was after Labor Day but I don’t care! I say white is great year round! I wanted a “California Cool” look so I added a neckerchief and straw hat. It was perfect for a day of exploring!
