Fourth of July week continues here on Jeans and a Teacup! The next couple of days I’ll be showing off my patriotic inspired outfits.  I have to confess – I’ve worn this outfit on the blog before! Am I breaking fashion blogger rules by showing it twice?? It just fits so perfectly for the holiday that I have to wear it. Linen blazer, denim shorts and a “stars and stripes” pattern combination all scream 4th of July to me.
You might have noticed that I tried a different hairstyle. I’m not sure if it was successful or not. It’s really hard for me to get my hair to do anything. It’s definitely long enough for these milkmaid braids but so thick that I feel like it’s weighing my head down…haha. I also need more practice hiding the elastics and bobby pins. Or maybe I’ll just go back to the trusted ponytail!

Make sure to check out The Bouqs for your 4th of July flowers! You can check out my post about this cool company here!

  1. Love the outfit, love the hair! As a frequent milkmaid braid wearer, my tip for hiding the elastics is to make sure that you sort of shove them under the braids, out of view. To do this just stick the elastic part under the braid from the front, and then sort of spread the braid out with your fingers so it covers it. Make sure to pin it in (an inconspicuous) place, preferably with pins similar to your hair color, and you're golden!
